So glad there's you

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  This week it is a Designer's Choice challenge and Laurie has chosen: Long Tall Sally.  If you are like me and hadn't heard that term before, what it means is a card that measures 8 1/4 x 4.  It's designed to fit in a legal sized envelope.  I was inspired by this card:
tona3_longmacaron_fe1
I just loved the long line up of macaroons.
I started by stamping my butterfly four times on water color paper with versamark ink and embossing them with black embossing powder.  Then I used four coordinating colors of gelatos and scribbled them over the butterflies.  I use a baby wipe to blend the colors then I stamped the sentiment and used a fine tip black pen to draw a frame around the entire image panel.  I matted that on black cardstock (which is hard to see in the photo) and then mounted it on a dark purple card base.
I know this is different, but I hope you will challenge yourselves and play along with us this week.  Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Supplies:
Stamps: Repeat Impressions "Butterfly (sm)" and "I'm so glad . . ."

Challenges:
Brown Sugar Challenge #168--anything goes
Southern Girls--nature inspired
Cardz TV #3--anything goes
Alphabet Challenge--Y is for you choose
Creative Fingers #125--anything goes
Tuesday Throwdown #332--things with wings

Love this, Heather. Using the gelatos to color "panels" over each butterfly is such a creative idea. Love it!

Oh I like - didn't think about turning it the other way - but oh you made it work so beautifully. Got to get my gelatos out.

What a fun color line up of all those butterflies - it looks super on the long card.

This is just a wow card Heather, I'm not quite sure how to use my Gelato's, they don't work like I want them to, so thanks for the tip of the baby wipe, I think that is what I needed!
