Autumn Time

Happy Friday!!  It's time for another challenge from Jo's Scrap Shack.  As always, we are now an Anything Goes challenge and our sponsor for this week is Digital Delights by Louby Lou.

The design team was given an awesome set of images to work with and I was having so much fun, I decided to make two cards!  Here is the first one:
The second card uses the sentiment circle and I really wanted it to be the focus of the card.
The sentiment reads "Those Who Are Happiest Are Grateful For Everything They Have."  I colored the leaves and then added some red nuvo drops to create some berries.  Finished everything off with some sparkly ribbon and a button.

A little birdie told me

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  As it is the 5th Wednesday of the month, we have a fabulous sketch for your inspiration:
No automatic alt text available.
And here is the card I created using the sketch:
Aren't these little birdies the cutest??!!  I've had them for several months and this is the first time I've used them, but it definitely won't be the last!!  They are so sweet.  I just got the birdbath stamp and the grass border stamp this week so it was the perfect time to put them all together to create a little scene.  the little cutie in the top circle is actually the same image as the bird sitting on the birdbath.  I was looking through my patterned papers and came across this birdhouse paper which I thought was perfect.  I've had the blue ribbon for years and years and years, now I just have one smallish piece left.  I used a cloud stencil from Taylored Expressions to create the sky in the background.

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you hop over to the House blog for all the details and to see what the rest of the team created.  And if you need any of the stamps I used, make sure you check out the 10% off your entire order coupon over in my left sidebar.

Supplies:
Stamps: Repeat Impressions "Tiny Bird (side)", "Tiny Bird (flight)", "Tiny Bird (front)", "Grass Border", "Birdbath" and "Little Birdie 2-sided swing stamp set"  I used only the first sentiment from that set

Christmas Joy

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.
The challenge this time is: Fancy Fold
And here is my card for your inspiration:
I just received this adorable image from Di and couldn't wait to color her up.  Plus, I'm in a Christmas card making mood, so the image is perfect.  For my fancy fold, I created a gatefold card, but not just a plain gatefold . . .
The scalloped circle die cut is adhered to the left hand side of the card and the circle die cut is adhered to the right hand side, so the two separate as you open up the card.  Sticking on the flowers was a bit tricky as I needed them to adhere only to the proper section of die cut otherwise the card wouldn't open.  The flower in the upper left I actually had to adhere using foam tape so the circle could (mostly) slide underneath as it closes.
As you open up the card, you get a fun surprise as you can now see the sweet little bunny and lamb that are part of the image, but were covered up by the flowers on the front.
Here is is fully opened with the sentiment stamped inside:
Supplies:
Stamps: Di's Digi Stamps "Izzy's Nativity" digi; Verve "Beyond Measure" both sentiments
Dies: Spellbinders "Classic Circles, large", "Scalloped Circles, large", and "Layered Poinsettias"

Merry and Bright

Happy Friday!!  It's time for another challenge from Jo's Scrap Shack.  As always, we are now an Anything Goes challenge and our sponsor for this week is Little Blue Button Stamps.

Here is the card I created for your inspiration:
I've been feeling like I need to get caught up on my Christmas card making, so here is another for my stash.  I'm a little low on my Christmas paper stash right now (Gasp!!  I know!), so as I was looking through my other papers, I came across a pack of old world patterns/colors and knew they would be perfect!  So, my colors are a bit non-traditional, but I think it turned out really pretty!

Glittery Jellies

I ran across this sketch from Less Is More and it really caught my eye!
Then I came across a tutorial for creating a tunnel card, and I knew it would be perfect for my niece's birthday (she's turning 6!)  Here's the card:
I stamped the jellyfish and colored them, and then added some superfine clear glitter to make them all sparkly and gorgeous!  I added glitter gel pen to their legs (?)  I sponged some aqua ink on through a bubbles stencil to help draw the eye to the center as the focal point.  The outside is all CAS and sweet, but the fun is on the inside!!  Here it is:
Isn't is fun!!  I wish I could see the look on her face when she opens it up.  I used the same bubble stencil on the layers to add to the ocean feel.

Supplies:
Stamps: Your Next Stamp "Sea Critters Set 1"
Dies: Spellbinders "Classic Circles, large"; Verve "Sprightly Sprigs"
Taylored Expressions "Bubbles" stencil

Marvelous

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  And this week is a fan favorite: Anything Goes!  Here is my inspiration card for you:
The card started with this card blank that I have had in my stash for at least 15 years!  The oval was already cut into it, and since I usually use sketches, this really hasn't fit any idea I've had.  But, I am in the process (a very slow and long process) of cleaning up my craft area and decided it was time to use it.  I was thinking a Christmas card, but for some reason Fall jumped into my head and I went with it.
I started by stamping the sentiment through the opening, directly onto the inside card base.  Then I stamped and cut out my leaves.  I wanted to add some acorns, so I created a "branch" so I could adhere them in a cluster.  The card needed just a little something so I stamped random dots all over half of the card for a little fun.  I finished the card off with a bit of scrap rafia that has been in my stash for ever!
Thanks for stopping by!  If you need any of the stamps I used, make sure you check out the 10% off your entire order code over in  my left sidebar.  And make sure you hop over to The House blog to see what the rest of the team has in store for you.

Hey, Foxy!

Happy Friday!!  It's time for another challenge from Jo's Scrap Shack.  As always, we are now an Anything Goes challenge and our sponsor for the week is the Oddball Art Company.
Oddball Art
Here is my card for your inspiration:
I won this adorable fox image from Oddball Art a couple months ago and couldn't wait to pull it out and color it up.  It is so cute!!  And I had the perfect sentiment from Cardz TV to go along with it.  The combination totally makes me smile.  The seam binding I've had for ages and never really find the right color card stock to go with it, but it pulls out the little purple-y blue flowers in the patterned paper and I really love the pop of color it adds.
I used a small strip of the patterned paper to  decorate the inside.

Peace on Earth

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for another challenge from the House That Stamps Built!  This week we have a beautiful inspiration photo to inspire you:
No automatic alt text available.
I've been in a Christmas card making mood lately (or rather, feeling like I need to get some Christmas cards made!), and I love Christmas, so I decided to use mostly the color combo but also a little bit of the scene to create this Christmas card:
I started out by stamping the ornament on a piece of scrap white card stock, then I heat embossed the star with white embossing powder.  I masked the ornament topper and sponged on some inks to create the scene.  I added the rays and little stars with a white gel pen and colored the topper with a silver sharpie, then fussy cut out the entire ornament.  For the card base, I actually started out with a piece of light blue patterned paper as I didn't want to have to sponge the entire panel.  Then I sponged on some teal ink and a little bit of navy.  I decided I wanted to have my ornament hanging from a tree, so I stamped the pine bow image several times in the corner, placed my ornament and added a little hanger and bow out of DMC floss. (As an aside, my girls and I have been working on making friendship bracelets, so several of my boxes of floss were already out, which is what made me think of using it.)  I finished everything off by stamping my sentiment and adding the silver star and a few silver sequins.  It's quite simple, but I am very pleased with how it turned out.
Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will hop over to the House blog to see the rest of the DT's creations and then get inky and play along with us.  And if you need any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your ENTIRE order coupon code over in my left sidebar.

Special Stationery

I had a bit of down time today, so I started a very minor clean up of my creating space.  Several years ago (more like 13 or 14), someone gave me a bunch of card blanks and other interesting card bases.  A lot of them are odd shapes or even have cutouts or embossed sections.  So, a lot of them I've struggled to use and they've just been sitting beside my desk.  This creation came from that stash--it was a pack of stationery and envelopes that I guess are designed to be embossed.  The sheets of paper are much too flimsy to use to create a card, but I decided they would be perfect for creating a little stationery set for myself.  I just wrote an actual letter yesterday and ended up tearing 8x11 sheets of paper in half.  Well, no more!  Now I have this pretty little set to write letters on.  There are 10 sheets of paper, but unfortunately, there were only 3 envelopes in the package.  Anyway, here's what I came up with:
At the top they say "From The Desk of" with my initials.  I stamped two decorative finials on the end  of the sentiment and a pretty mum in the background.  On the front of the envelopes I stamped the same mum and on the back flap, I stamped two decorative circles and the initial of my last name.
I think it turned out quite elegant and professional looking.  AND I managed to do something with some of my stash!!  I have a few more letters I need to write, and I will definitely be using these!

Stamps: PaperTrey Ink "Simply Stationery", "Fresh Alphabet" and "Mum's the Word"

Merry Christmouse

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.
The challenge this time is: Use 2 or more patterned papers
And here is my card for your inspiration:
This card proves that you can use more than one patterned paper and still have a CAS card.  The strip of papers was made from all the little scraps left from one of my favorite Christmas packs.  I made several of them to have on hand and they are a great way to use scraps that a really too small to use, but you just can't throw out.  Sometimes it's just the principle of the matter, you know?  Is not this little mouse the cutest you have ever seen!!!???  Di's images are always so adorable!  This is a new one I just received and, as you see, I just had to color him up right away.  Love it!  Hope you will come and play along with us for this challenge; I can't wait to see what you create!

Supplies:
Stamps: Di's Digi Designs "Poinsettia Mouse" digi; Verve "Ornamental Christmas" Sentiment

Challenges:

Birthday Wishes

Happy Friday!!  It's time for another challenge from Jo's Scrap Shack.  As always, we are now an Anything Goes challenge and our sponsor for this week is Little Blue Button Stamps.

Here is my card using one of the adorable images from Little Blue Button Stamps:
I believe this is the first time I have colored black hair, and I am quite please with how it turned out.  I usually color my images with brown hair or sometimes dark blonde, because, well, I have very dark brown hair and I have a bunch of brown markers. : )  But anyway, this cute little girl looked like she should have black hair, so I obliged.  But of course, her kitty had to be gray as I have had two pure gray cats and now have a gray stripey.
The starting point for this card was actually the ribbon.  I had a ribbon disaster a while ago, where all my loose ribbons fell off onto the floor and most of them are still there.  So, I decided to pick a piece and work with it and this purple and tan checked piece was just a short piece and was begging to be used.  Luckily I had a piece of card stock just the perfect shade of purple to go along with it.  And, I did pick up and put away a bunch of the ribbons from the floor, though there are still a bunch there.  Maybe one will inspire my next card.

Tic Tac Toe Christmas

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  This week, Wendy has given us a super fun tic tac toe board to work with:
No automatic alt text available.
Maybe it is the hot and humid weather we have been having, or maybe it is because I love to make Christmas cards, but either way, I have a simple Christmas card for you this week.  And I have a matching envelope, too.
A while back, I created these strips of paper scraps.  I used one to go across the center of my card and adhered another to the edges of the envelope flap, trimming to fit.  I used the same poinsettia image on both card and envelope and hand drew the black frame on both to add some interest.

For my card, I used the first column on the board: Use dimension, off the edge, and shimmer or sparkle.  I cute my focal panel so the poinsettia is hanging off the edge and I created dimension by stamping the poinsettia twice, cutting out only the inner petals of the second image and adhering them over the whole image using a tiny piece of cardboard to pop them up a bit.  I really like doing this when I don't want the full height created by using foam tape or pop dots.  I also added two strips of cardboard to the back of my main panel, so it it would stand off the card just a little bit.
It's hard to see, but for my shimmer I used a clear wink of stella pen over the entire image after coloring it.  You can see it just a bit in the photo above and in real life is so pretty!  In the photo below you can see the dimension on the flower:
And one last picture of both card and envelope together:
Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you check out the challenge on the House blog and see what the rest of the Rock Stars have created.  You will NOT be disappointed!!  And if you need either of the stamps I used today, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over on my left sidebar.
