Last of the bunch

Even though I've been working on my Christmas cards all year long, I still came up a few short.  And while I'm confessing, I still haven't gotten those last few sent out.  But I did finish them today, so they will be going out in the mail tomorrow.  Better late than never, right?  I made 6 so hopefully I will have a head start on the cards for 2019.  Two different designs, because while I planned to do them all in the style of the card with the gold ornaments, it took too much cutting due to the used condition of my cutting plates.  I do really like both versions, though, so it's ok.

All the dies are from the same Elizabeth Craft Designs set.  The first version features the detailed ornaments in a beautiful, shiny gold with red ribbons.
The second version features the open ornaments die cut directly into the card base.  I then layered green glitter paper underneath and finished them off with black ribbons.

Both are simple, but elegant with the shimmer and shine.

Last minute gift card holder

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built and this week it is a fan favorite: Anything Goes!! And here is the card I created for your inspiration:
This was a last minute gift for a family member, so, yes, another Christmas card even though Christmas is over.  Speaking of which, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends.  Not only is it a card, but it is a surprise gift card holder!

I did a little generational stamping with the trees to create a forest background for my cute little snowman which I colored and fussy cut out and adhered to the snowy scene.  I added some drops of glue and covered with glitter to create some extra sparkle.  The snow bank is die cut out of glitter paper, so this card is full of shimmer and sparkle!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will hop over to the House blog to see the rest of the DT's creations and then get inky and play along with us.  And if you need any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your ENTIRE order coupon code over in my left sidebar.

Hugs and Kisses

Happy Friday!!  It's time for another challenge from Jo's Scrap Shack.  As always, we are now an Anything Goes challenge and our sponsor for this week is Just ME Digital Stamps.

I have a confession: I'm still not finished with my Christmas cards, but I was given this adorable image from just ME so I took a little break and made a Valentine's Day card (I'll be needing a bunch of those, too!)  Here is what I created:
The background was in my bits and pieces stash, so this was a rather quick one.  I printed the sentiment on vellum so it would stand out against the background, while at the same time softening the background a bit.  Both background layers were die cut with a stitched rectangle die.  I added a bit of sparkle to the wings with a clear Wink of Stella pen.  Unfortunately, it's so hard to catch it in a photo.  You can see it a little bit in the photo below.

Pink Poinsettias

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps.  This week we have a beautiful inspiration photo for you:
Image may contain: flower

And here is the card I created:
Of course, I had to go with the pink poinsettias!  I also drew in some of the green and  added a bit or red and brown.  My card design was inspired by fellow Rock Star, Esther, and her card below:
I thought that wreath image was really pretty and wanted to duplicate the look using Repeat Impressions stamps.  So, I started with my pink poinsettias, Then I added some berries and leaves which are actually blueberries, but since I stamped them in brown, I was able to fudge the coloring a little and now they make perfect red, accent berries.  Then I stamped, colored and selectively cut some pine branches to add greenery to the arrangement, and layered everything on top of a brown die cut wreath.  The white panel was a little stark, so I stamped some sheet music in light gray, wiping off the edges so there wouldn't be any sharp edges.  I die cut the white panel with a stitched die, mounted it on gold glitter paper and then again on the hot pink card base.  Oh, and I finished it all off with a Merry Christmas sentiment strip.  In the photo below, you can see more of the shine from the glitter paper.

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this photo.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.
The challenge this time is: Winter Holidays
And here is my card for your inspiration:
I just love this adorable penguin couple with their presents.  They are so cute and so fun to color!  A gorgeous Christmas paper pack I got at Hobby Lobby, some gorgeous satin ribbon and some pops of black finish everything off.  I added a touch of clear Wink of Stella on the dark green portions of the hat, a bit on the sprig of mistletoe, the red ribbon on the gift and the red layer of gift wrap.  It's fabulous in real life, a bit hard to capture in a photo, but you can see it a bit in the photo below:

I hope you will get a chance to play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.  And make sure you hop over to the Di's Digital Designs blog to see what the rest of the team has made for this challenge.

Ornament box

Happy Friday!!  It's time for another challenge from Jo's Scrap Shack.  As always, we are now an Anything Goes challenge and our sponsor for the week is The Cutting Cafe.

And here is my creation:
I was given a really fun box file to work with called "Tall Box Set".  It comes with two different box options, one with window options and one without, a top and bottom, optional window frame element and a bunch of gift tags.  I chose the window option.  I used all four windows, but really you could easily use one, two, three or four!  It is really quite a large box: 2 1/2 inches square on the base and (I didn't measure) about 7 1/2 inches tall.  It holds a LOT of candy, and I think it would be amazing for a thin ornament.  But really you could put just about anything in it.
I don't have an electronic cutting machine, so I have to use the PDF files and do it all by hand.  I cut out the templates with scissors and a craft knife and score all the score lines with my Scor-pal.  Since buffalo plaid seems to be a big thing right now, I decided to gift my box top and bottom a bit of a plaid dress up using black ink and a distressed stripe stamp from Papertrey Ink.  It took a bit of time, but I really like how it turned out.  I die cut 4 pine boughs and attached them to the box top for a bit of texture and interest.  I die cut the "ribbons" and ornaments from the same set and glued them directly onto the acetate window.  So, the pine boughs lift off with the top, but the ornaments stay in place.  I used some score tape adhesive sheets to cut out the ornaments so I could easily add glitter.  They are so gorgeous and sparkly in real life!
It needed some decoration for the top so I made my own bow out of ribbon: red satin and black and white dotted.  Some glue dots and hot glue hold it all together.

Santa Paws

Happy Friday!!  It's time for another challenge from Jo's Scrap Shack.  As always, we are now an Anything Goes challenge and our sponsor for the week is Digital Delights by Louby Loo.
I was given this adorable pup image to work with!  Isn't he so cute?!
I used one of my paper strip backgrounds--the last one I have for now (it almost makes me sad!).  They are just perfect for adding pattern to a card.  I used a bit of red rick rack, a die cut snowflake and a fun sentiment.  For a bit of sparkle, I added micro fine glitter to the "fur" on his hat and used my clear Wink of Stella to glitter the die cut snowflake.  You can see the sparkle in the photo below.

Guest Designer

I have exciting news today!  A month or so ago, I was asked to be a guest designer for CAS(E) This Sketch challenge and today is the day!  I almost always start my cards with a sketch and their's are always great starting points.  Here is the awesome sketch for this week's challenge:
At first it looked like a very basic sketch, but then I started to see that it would be really fun with a clear window through to the inside.  So, this is what I came up with:
I created my background using various sizes of snowflake stamps.  At first I was only going to use red and aqua, but I needed to fill in some areas without adding any more color, so I stamped a few more snowflakes with a very light gray.  It takes away the blank spaces without overwhelming the card with color.  I die cut the "Jesus" word out of red glitter paper and stamped the rest of the sentiment underneath with black ink.  For a little more sparkly, I added tiny clear rhinestones to the center of the colored snowflakes.
Thanks so much to the CAS(E) This Sketch design team for allowing me to design alongside them this week.  Make sure you go check out what they have created.

Supplies:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink "Fab Flakes" and "Inspired: Jesus"

Warm and Wonderful

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built and this week it is a fun Designer's Choice Challenge!   Donna has challenged us to create Anything But a Card with the optional twist of Christmas.
And here is what I created for your inspiration:
Life is so crazy right now, so I needed something quick and easy.  I already had one of my scrap paper tags made, so I colored up this cute snowman and fussy cut him out, stamped and cut the sentiment and I was ready to go.  I think I will give this tag to my sister because I crocheted a blanket for her (out of some yarn that she really, really loves) and the sentiment talks about being warm.  I think it would be a fun fit!
Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will hop over to the House blog to see the rest of the DT's creations and then get inky and play along with us.  And if you need any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your ENTIRE order coupon code over in my left sidebar.

Supplies:
Stamps: Repeat Impressions "Snowman 2-sided swing stamp set" I used one of the snowmen (there are two) and part of the sentiment (I think there are three different parts)
Dies: MFT "Blueprints 13" tag die

Challenges:

Jingle Bells

Happy December!!  Yikes, how can it be here already?!  New month = new challenge on the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog.  This challenge is perfect for this time of year AND making up the last of those Christmas cards, because the challenge is: "Season's Greetings".
Our sponsor for the month is DRS Designs.

I used two of their fabulous stamps to create my card:
And can I say that I LOVE this card??!  It turned out so beautiful, if I may say so myself. : )  The sentiment was cut out with a rectangle die and matted with some torn mulberry paper; I just love the softness this adds to the card.  The bells were colored and then fussy cut.  I will definitely be using this image again; it is so beautiful!  Some patterned paper and some gorgeous satin ribbon from The Stamps of Life finish everything off perfectly!
I hope you will play along with us this month.  If you are like me, you probably still have a bunch of Christmas cards that need to be made; why not play along and get a chance to win a fabulous prize, too!  Thanks for stopping by.  Make sure you hop over to the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog for all the details and to see what the rest of the team created for this challenge.

The challenge this time is: For A Child
And here is my card for your inspiration:
I created this card for a little girl at our church who will be celebrating her birthday soon.  I love this sweet little bear image for little girl birthdays.  I used my favorite card color combo: pink and green--it's been a long time since I've used that combo (I always forget about it!)  I used a bit of tiny lace that was in my bits and pieces stash; it was perfect for adding a bit of extra sweetness.

I hope you will get a chance to play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.  And make sure you hop over to the Di's Digital Designs blog to see what the rest of the team has made for this challenge.
