Vintage Christmas

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  As it is the 5th Wednesday of the month, we have a fabulous sketch for your inspiration:
Image may contain: text
And here is my card:
As you all know, I love sketch challenges, but this one had me stumped for a bit!  I just wasn't sure what to use for those squares.  I have a difficult time pairing patterns, so I didn't really want to use patterned papers.  As I was looking through my dies to see what oval I wanted to use, I saw this elegant square and thought it would work perfectly.  So, I die cut 6 of them from white card stock and used metallic gilding polish in Chocolate Bronze and Mint to give them the look of old metal with a patina finish.  I stamped my sentiment on a piece of light gray card stock and darkened the edges with a dark gray ink then added frantage powder and heat embossed it.  I used some white mulberry paper, a sheer sparkly organza ribbon and  soft gold nuvo drops to finish everything off.

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you hop over to the House blog for all the details and to see what the rest of the team created.  And if you need any of the stamps I used, make sure you check out the 10% off your entire order coupon over in my left sidebar.

Have a Merry Christmas

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built and this week it is a fan favorite: Anything Goes!! And here is the card I created for your inspiration:
For this cute a easy Christmas card, I used one of the images and one of the sentiments from a multi-piece set.  Just a reminder that you don't have to use a set or even a stamp exactly as it was designed.  I decided to use Nuvo drops for the ornaments on the tree and I LOVE the shine and dimension it added.  I used red, green and soft gold.  I also added some gold wink of stella pen to the star, but you don't really notice the shimmer.  The die cut border piece (which is so elegant!) was a little gift from my fabulous teammate, Esther.  Thanks, Esther!  A bit of satin ribbon and some red pearls and I was all finished.
Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will hop over to the House blog to see the rest of the DT's creations and then get inky and play along with us.  And if you need any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your ENTIRE order coupon code over in my left sidebar.

Harvest Thanks

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.
The challenge this time is: Halloween or Harvest
And here is my card for your inspiration:
I don't celebrate Halloween, so I went with the Harvest theme.  Apple picking is in full swing where I live so I thought this image worked perfectly.  I printed the image out quite large so I could use only part of it for a different look.  I added a little strip of scrap patterned paper down the side and a bit of ribbon that actually has snowflakes on the face side, but this back side is nice a plain and perfect for my color scheme.  I finished it off with a cute little sentiment tag and button.

I hope you will get a chance to play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.  And make sure you hop over to the Di's Digital Designs blog to see what the rest of the team has made for this challenge.

Give Thanks

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps.  This week we have a beautiful inspiration photo for you:
Image may contain: food

And here is the card I created:
This was inspired by the pile of pumpkins/gourds and by some of the colors.  I stamped the wide pumpkin and created a mask for it so I could stamp the other two pumpkins on either side.  I added a small grass stamp underneath to ground them and blended on a bit of green ink to help fill in the grass.  Then I heat embossed the sentiment with versamark ink and black embossing powder.  I love how it really helps the sentiment stand out even though it's stamped directly onto the pumpkins.
Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this photo.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

Dino-mite!

A good friend of my daughters is turning 11 this week.  I don't have a lot of boy themed images , but then I remembered this fabulous dinosaur set from Sugar Pea Designs.  It has several adorable dinos, some extra scene building images and a bunch of awesome sentiments!  I think I used all of the images from the set except a little baby hatching from an egg.  I stamped and fussy cut all of the images and colored them with my Spectrum Noirs.
After getting all of the images ready to go.  I cut a white panel and stenciled the top portion with a could stencil.  I die cut a "hill" out of brown card stock for the bottom of the panel and then used my images to finish the scene.  Then I finished off the inside with a sentiment (not from the set but perfect for dinosaurs and the young man receiving the card) and a few more dinos.

Rustic Christmas

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  This week we have a fun Tic Tac Toe board for you:
No photo description available.
Here is what I created for your inspiration:
What a fun challenge!!  I think tic-tac-toe challenges are my favorite as you can pretty much create your own challenge.  I used the first column: Wildlife (deer), Texture (embossing folder and lots of layers), Stencil (deer).  But I also used: Tall Card ('cause it's kind of fun and I had some premade bases already), Dimension and Kraft, Red and Black.  So, the deer is actually made with a stencil and Black Soot Distress Oxide ink and I added a red rhinestone to make him a Rudolph; such a fun touch.  I made my own patterned paper for the lower half using two different snowflake stamps and a random dot stamp.  Then I embossed it with a wood grain embossing folder to give it a more woodsy feel.  Some fun plaid papers and this definitely has a "Country Christmas" feel to me.  And another card finished for my Christmas stash!  Yeay!
Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this photo.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

Friend

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.
The challenge this time is: Include a pumpkin
And here is my card for your inspiration:
I was a bit pressed for time when I was making this.  I didn't have a lot of time to add pumpkin embellishments so I chose and image that has a pumpkin.  This little cutie looks like she is just coming back from the pumpkin patch with her prize pick.  I chose some fun fall paper that I used on a card the other day and this scrap was just the right size for the bottom of my card.  Finished it all off with a fun little tag and some nuvo dots in pink and soft gold.

I hope you will get a chance to play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.  And make sure you hop over to the Di's Digital Designs blog to see what the rest of the team has made for this challenge.

Count your blessings

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps.  This week is a Designer's Choice Challenge and Joy has chosen: Circles

And here is the card I created:
This die cut leaf has been in my bits and pieces stash for a couple years just waiting for the right time to be used.  The smaller die cut circle was also in the stash.  It feels good to get back to using some of that stash instead of just adding to it!  Since the leaf was a dark gray, I went with a Fall paper pack that was a little less traditional in color; such pretty papers in this one.  I blended some Antique Linen Distress Ink around the outside of the white circles so they wouldn't stand out so much--they were bright!  I also blended some dark gray ink around the edges of the leaf after stamping the music background with the same ink, then I added just a touch of Soot Distress Oxide Ink around just the very edges.  The pattern papers were all scraps as well as the red circles and border.
Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this photo.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

Christmas tags

A new month has arrived and that means a new challenge from the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog.  This month's challenge is No Cards Allowed.  Our fabulous sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.
Bugaboo Digi Stamps
Prepare for cuteness overload because this is what I created:
I decided it would be fun to make some tags with some scraps so I used all of my favorite Bugaboo Christmas cuties (and a cupcake!) and got a step closer to being ready for Christmas.
Here's a close up of the super cute snowmen:
Almost all of these scraps were actually the top portion that holds the sheet of paper into the paper pack--you tear off the papers at the perforation line and I saved all of them thinking they would be perfect for this.
The two little penguins:
I die cut the sentiment banners from scraps of kraft card stock and stamped them with a sweet Christmas greeting.  Then I popped them up a little with a thin piece of cardboard cut to fit.  It adds a little dimension without being as raised as the images which I popped up with foam tape.
These two are my absolute favorite Bugaboo images EVER!!!  (unfortunately, the reindeer seems to be retired.  sniff . . .)
I even had a strip of paper that had all the reindeer's names on it, obviously, I had to pair that tag with the reindeer.
And last, but not least, the yummy cupcake:
It's hard to see in the photos, but I added clear Wink of Stella to the three snowmen and the cupcake frosting.  You can see it in the photo below a bit better, specially on the chubby snowman.
And there we go: eight adorable tags ready for Christmas packages!
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Head on over to the LTSCB blog to see what the rest of the team has created and to get the full details of the challenge.  Then get inky and play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.

Supplies:
