It's time for a new challenge from the <a href="http://www.carabbiemomentsofcraft.blogspot.com">Creative Moments Challenge blog</a>. The theme is: Flora or Fauna. I am using an image from our fabulous sponsor: Polkadoodles and I chose to use both flora and fauna.</p><div style="text-align: center;"> Here is my card:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoI4yNX4lyNUkKcFEaQFq-ZzyvPvsD2wAkFexU-c1MxZS2AnKYi7aofqoFpv0fpRkMHBHxgPTk82DPg2YSCRWBvAmc1nj6MrG4RUk_jVwZgS0oNONFUQH39ywEYmGmEMh1K8TkmQiS1t9lCB1-PNsLwH0downiwEQtxTNKZ3UppaTBrIHEeYjiB_pon_E/s2562/Picture1.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2475" data-original-width="2562" height="386" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoI4yNX4lyNUkKcFEaQFq-ZzyvPvsD2wAkFexU-c1MxZS2AnKYi7aofqoFpv0fpRkMHBHxgPTk82DPg2YSCRWBvAmc1nj6MrG4RUk_jVwZgS0oNONFUQH39ywEYmGmEMh1K8TkmQiS1t9lCB1-PNsLwH0downiwEQtxTNKZ3UppaTBrIHEeYjiB_pon_E/w400-h386/Picture1.png" width="400" /></a></div>Now, I know that these flowers are poppies, and in the Northeast, at least, poppies are not spring flowers. But I colored them up in a light pink, and we can pretend they are a spring flower. The little fox is wearing his spring scarf, because it can still be chilly here in the spring. This image is really large and I wanted to show off some of the patterned paper, so I die some out of the box die cutting, allowing the flowers to stand tall but keeping the image panel much smaller. All the papers where from a paper pack I have had for AGES and it was sitting on my desk since my daughter had just given it back to me. Last week I decided to have a little fun and try to use some of the stuff that was on my desk before putting them away. I added a little bit of die cut grass to the bottom of the image and some silver stickles to the centers of the flowers for some sparkle. I finished it all off with a die cut "Hello" that I die cut twice and layered together, and then added some light pink pearls.<div>You have all month to play along. So, get inky and link up your creation; I can't wait to see what you create!</div><div><br /></div><div>Supplies:</div><div>Stamps: Polkadoodles "Poppy Flowers--Autumn Fox" digi</div><div>Dies: Sweet n' Sassy Stamps grass border die; MFT smartphone die "hello" and "Blueprints 12" square (I used it for the outside the box technique and then trimmed the square down further with my trimmer)</div><div><br /></div><div>Challenges:</div><div><a href="http://www.fabnfunkychallenges.blogspot.com">Fab n Funky Challenge #590</a>--favorite colors (pink and green are not my favorite colors, but for some reason, they are my favorite colors to use when making cards. It's time for a new challenge from the <a href="http://www.cutitupchallenges.blogspot.com">Cut It Up Challenge Blog</a>. This week, the challenge is: Use Spring Colors</p><div style="text-align: center;">Here is my card for your inspiration:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiW323njvOwuqgojTSuUZdkRrq_D8Lpj4uOrxbtL84TR_6kA4SGt5i1C7fmeV880kdV-WJww3dCt-rNd67UtkahG7HezdriOx-BWvMCfXJGJodaRZYZAnkoZhcK0L9FIx_sQKY9rSdbMJJygqpFxBcZ-GHo6X6F7zeVoE_y3rTMts4NHcBdO7cAtKqZmbM/s1580/IMG_1240.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1580" data-original-width="1275" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiW323njvOwuqgojTSuUZdkRrq_D8Lpj4uOrxbtL84TR_6kA4SGt5i1C7fmeV880kdV-WJww3dCt-rNd67UtkahG7HezdriOx-BWvMCfXJGJodaRZYZAnkoZhcK0L9FIx_sQKY9rSdbMJJygqpFxBcZ-GHo6X6F7zeVoE_y3rTMts4NHcBdO7cAtKqZmbM/w323-h400/IMG_1240.jpg" width="323" /></a></div>I was looking through my many digital images, hoping to find a crocus to use for this challenge, when I came across this beautiful parrot tulip image from Fred She Said. I never found a crocus (don't even know if I have one of them as a digi), but the tulip does the job just as well! The yellow paper was part of a paper pack that was sitting on my desk waiting to be put away and it became the color inspiration for the card. I die cut the paper with a stitched rectangle die and then ran it through in an embossing folder to give some beautiful texture. I remembered that I had some ribbons that had originally come with the paper pack as part of a card making kit many, many, many years ago, so I pulled them out and found this matching yellow ribbon. I did a fun "out of the box" die cutting technique which allows the leaf of the image to pop outside the die cut rectangle. I finished it off with an encouraging sentiment and some clear dew drops.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>Thanks so much for stopping by! From time to time, I get a chance to use pieces of those cards to create other cards. It's so easy and fun that it seems like cheatin! But I guess it is really no different than using a pre-printed image or topper. Anyway, I was cleaning up my crafting area and thought it might be fun to just randomly use some of the things that were on my desk rather than putting them away. I started with this blue card base; it was already cut to size I just had to score it. Then I went looking for a blue themed Christmas card from my stash and I found this one. The picture is so large that at first I wasn't sure I would be able to add a sentiment without covering up a big portion of the image. Then I came upon the genius idea of heat embossing the sentiment directly onto the image. I first die the the part of the image I really wanted with a stitched rectangle die. Then I heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder and it turn out sooooo beautiful!! I wasn't sure how it would emboss on the shiny surface, but it is perfect!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnBNygQAc0_DiP7Mb38lA8VynRuQnEX90D705ulBBSyu6gMS_k48Kjyfpz38Fw5SENN4x3_UQry9xsWfSJY74-XXm2mGI34c38MS1zEaoBIYD3oypnYtvyjtr8LMdcUfCpYvVZPxIdfQ1MsXwOwTSIHkb6_iGAzzd-m5SNUZNvnopmy_PksNwdnMZl7fo/s2506/IMG_1227.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2506" data-original-width="2052" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnBNygQAc0_DiP7Mb38lA8VynRuQnEX90D705ulBBSyu6gMS_k48Kjyfpz38Fw5SENN4x3_UQry9xsWfSJY74-XXm2mGI34c38MS1zEaoBIYD3oypnYtvyjtr8LMdcUfCpYvVZPxIdfQ1MsXwOwTSIHkb6_iGAzzd-m5SNUZNvnopmy_PksNwdnMZl7fo/w328-h400/IMG_1227.jpg" width="328" /></a></div>I really wanted to be able to reuse the sentiment as well, so I added it to the inside along with the rest of the tree from the front of the card.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSEf4bfrJAfJtOsAS8AaUfHV4EJO2mFUYs1-jVAkg8jyNhvI1EfgrmdRMSzGfPZNjM6cLlclLYLvYVcVtNrFGVB7zf-xkqQi1dC-xiwxV4do8L32llouTt5iyQOHeB6xZSF4386WYR_JYzmAz4tPkNp5Rw85xwKk4Qxco-PE9Qhtv8oYYsTfbSwiB1s-4/s2148/IMG_1228.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2148" data-original-width="1802" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSEf4bfrJAfJtOsAS8AaUfHV4EJO2mFUYs1-jVAkg8jyNhvI1EfgrmdRMSzGfPZNjM6cLlclLYLvYVcVtNrFGVB7zf-xkqQi1dC-xiwxV4do8L32llouTt5iyQOHeB6xZSF4386WYR_JYzmAz4tPkNp5Rw85xwKk4Qxco-PE9Qhtv8oYYsTfbSwiB1s-4/w335-h400/IMG_1228.jpg" width="335" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Supplies:</div><div style="text-align: left;">Stamps: Verve "Beyond Measure"</div><div style="text-align: left;">Dies: MFT "Blueprints 13" stitched rectangle</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Challenges:</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.throughthepurplehazechallenges.blogspot.com">Through the Purple Haze #212-</a>-anything goes</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.paperfundaychallenges.blogspot.com">Paper Funday #62</a>--anything goes with the optional twist of no patterned paper</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.creativeknockouts.blogspot.com">Creative Knockouts #515</a>--die cuts/punches/stencils</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.kraftychickschallenge.blogspot.com">Krafty Chicks #704-</a>-all occasions</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.creativefingerschallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk">Creative Fingers #272</a>--anything goes</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><p></p>Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01425481644236086193noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8561345254855540775.post-38970556787178592992024-02-27T18:38:00.000-08:002024-02-27T19:15:19.999-08:00So glad<p> I lead a women's small group at our church and this semester we are incorporating some "social events" into our schedule. We meet on Thursday mornings and two weeks ago, Thursday was the day after Valentine's Day. So, we had a little Valentine's Day party with treats and a few games and I asked each woman to bring a little Valentine's Day card for each of the other women in the group. This is the card I created to give to everyone. They are little--4 1/4 x 4 1/4 (mostly so I could cut a 12x12 piece of paper into 9 pieces--I needed 7 cards though I made an extra to give away to a friend) so I created coordinating envelopes to hold them. Here is a mid-challenge reminder for our "CAS" challenge over on the <a href="http://www.carabbiemomentsofcraft.blogspot.com">Creative Moments Challenge blog</a>. You still have almost 2 weeks to play along with us. We have two sponsors and the image I used today came from Mirtillamente. Here is my card:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc_Srn_ZrZCE2fWkH6HKBQr2Hc7m-Lh2ZRw4ql5jb1zNaM-lTasS0BDR7zo3fBf6BCY4WvtwWBERbncf7Q7EMkIuEXR4QkLIFOKi-QwH8PbNT_SxkL12k6ZV2GZ_0kpH-r3BvxLek0qxEXAEYN-8_YQBucdnofmRuEXUjrHH_K7fsbGsjOG4z89xGHIQE/s3300/Picture1.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2475" data-original-width="3300" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc_Srn_ZrZCE2fWkH6HKBQr2Hc7m-Lh2ZRw4ql5jb1zNaM-lTasS0BDR7zo3fBf6BCY4WvtwWBERbncf7Q7EMkIuEXR4QkLIFOKi-QwH8PbNT_SxkL12k6ZV2GZ_0kpH-r3BvxLek0qxEXAEYN-8_YQBucdnofmRuEXUjrHH_K7fsbGsjOG4z89xGHIQE/w640-h480/Picture1.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p>I kept this one nice and CAS: die cut the image panel with a stitched die, colored up my image, stamped the sentiment and adhered it to the card base before adding some clear dewdrops to mimic rain.</p><div>Remember, you still have almost 2 weeks to play. These are the Valentine's Day cards I created using <a href="https://sites.google.com/view/cardsbykendra/home?authuser=0">Kendra's cutting guide and card layouts</a>. If you are unfamiliar with this challenge (or idea), you use 6 sheets of 6x6 patterned paper to create 15 cards. She gives a cutting guide for each sheet of paper and card layouts using those papers. It's really fun and uses up (almost) entirely those sheets of patterned paper.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRtG0d9YlAQ_zNCI71v-tjONEzKVN6Al4FWr-h49ntNmMZoOH4VwOY8VEBSkU1tMenxfBKWR3NepM6mxmzuYUkGNH_Tw1BVUuc1_tve4uzlQQegzvmGe-YxDocdenDwlT0avmMXBrfM5f5Tg1z8ErhNtB800gk0qARVY4apOujEkAZr3X4YXfGSEQtmUc/s3229/IMG_1148.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3229" data-original-width="2983" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRtG0d9YlAQ_zNCI71v-tjONEzKVN6Al4FWr-h49ntNmMZoOH4VwOY8VEBSkU1tMenxfBKWR3NepM6mxmzuYUkGNH_Tw1BVUuc1_tve4uzlQQegzvmGe-YxDocdenDwlT0avmMXBrfM5f5Tg1z8ErhNtB800gk0qARVY4apOujEkAZr3X4YXfGSEQtmUc/w370-h400/IMG_1148.jpg" width="370" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Below are the scraps that are left over. The bigger pieces are no more than an inch tall. Sometimes I seem to have trouble measuring correctly and one of those larger leftover pieces came because I cut part of the paper too short. But it usually works out in the end.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeIBKDQeGbBZZIDyQE25cYW-YfhLIYN2JY81KRGCASOzhdrH_-TXwQ7ryL6aLRlloIL-xuecx7qCGwTsLWWc5vocfCx9F75EaY0lt9g7TcmHiCHP3KXhFIcQZPgyfpH_YhS2U5iHeKdD5eoTR1oPB1ZAJEyJwpRvg1JLBn1IdIGmb4XbUyzwZBryApGoE/s2450/IMG_1147.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1769" data-original-width="2450" height="289" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeIBKDQeGbBZZIDyQE25cYW-YfhLIYN2JY81KRGCASOzhdrH_-TXwQ7ryL6aLRlloIL-xuecx7qCGwTsLWWc5vocfCx9F75EaY0lt9g7TcmHiCHP3KXhFIcQZPgyfpH_YhS2U5iHeKdD5eoTR1oPB1ZAJEyJwpRvg1JLBn1IdIGmb4XbUyzwZBryApGoE/w400-h289/IMG_1147.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>I tried to keep most of the elements the same since I am creating them all for the same occasion. It makes it easier for me. Not all of the cards use the same elements, but most of them are the same. I did use the same image stamps set on each card, but I used sentiments from different sets to fit the recipient and the space a little bit better.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>Card #1: uses some stretchy cream lace that appears on a couple of the other cards and some adorable heart shaped pearls which appear on almost all of the cards.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiby3BcksrZ5IMvj7gs93QzNf-lUXaIYGlJ15FOSwzjTTNKknS61qaR6sqR69YHzorGAjKbU0Igi6QdfAcXF64cesHu-PM0k90rTGGtJx1WBW8s1uDC7VGixaT5ttBHl6z74lCrIdgIt040vAqfglLkRie9Voxu1LfIRHuGe57qZPDbemMHmUm0jGend_U/s2484/IMG_1149.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1904" data-original-width="2484" height="306" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiby3BcksrZ5IMvj7gs93QzNf-lUXaIYGlJ15FOSwzjTTNKknS61qaR6sqR69YHzorGAjKbU0Igi6QdfAcXF64cesHu-PM0k90rTGGtJx1WBW8s1uDC7VGixaT5ttBHl6z74lCrIdgIt040vAqfglLkRie9Voxu1LfIRHuGe57qZPDbemMHmUm0jGend_U/w400-h306/IMG_1149.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>Card #2 uses a heart and star stencil that I just got last month as well as a star embossing folder (on the green panel) that I also just got last month. I added some die cut hearts to the striped panel as it seemed a little empty with anything there.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUcm_mGLrk13pfWBP3GT5JZT7UG0bGGw9YOiIuxxV4BMLyaaGCFkha0Mgw7vz30gK59VxJVzQ59ur_RKBrh-7mI9mVMjV4zvGrnbuj4KqVzjwDPQ1tzNSENUwtPVHheCbipor5UkNoTD9Kh43yJGJEwHfxsuV3L6DCgUtc6JjzHXlopf83bdcpznKWDxs/s2371/IMG_1150.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2371" data-original-width="1897" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUcm_mGLrk13pfWBP3GT5JZT7UG0bGGw9YOiIuxxV4BMLyaaGCFkha0Mgw7vz30gK59VxJVzQ59ur_RKBrh-7mI9mVMjV4zvGrnbuj4KqVzjwDPQ1tzNSENUwtPVHheCbipor5UkNoTD9Kh43yJGJEwHfxsuV3L6DCgUtc6JjzHXlopf83bdcpznKWDxs/w320-h400/IMG_1150.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Card #3 has only the heart shaped pearls as embellishments.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSXEyWzWy-WZw5ztk_Qp8uOZzwC-2M2P_Qc7iGCtd3C6ZiKxU3o1MxoaEVJkXrNsxrNmu1Bxck-8P-9rd5_JKYIcas6ogUYwYQXvhMc_gJ95Xpzq9xu1j9KMuBE0kiFkazCQTx5hih7EV5TXKrYzQ50kwbbex9YBC_OCGyY4dTQ2EYhPTW6fKqUhp0oXM/s2193/IMG_1151.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1824" data-original-width="2193" height="333" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSXEyWzWy-WZw5ztk_Qp8uOZzwC-2M2P_Qc7iGCtd3C6ZiKxU3o1MxoaEVJkXrNsxrNmu1Bxck-8P-9rd5_JKYIcas6ogUYwYQXvhMc_gJ95Xpzq9xu1j9KMuBE0kiFkazCQTx5hih7EV5TXKrYzQ50kwbbex9YBC_OCGyY4dTQ2EYhPTW6fKqUhp0oXM/w400-h333/IMG_1151.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Card #4 got a good dose of those heart pearls.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj80LA7p0IhRaxpv6agUswtUMI-pmOUWvadXLA4wiN8E50qNQFCi8KMAhEGqbzivb5jz8vbM47u_-sjY5Zs8FtvFivQG47SqEjuyg4yIql9WuTveg1F69cs1w8Se3VeieRRwkyj6qQwOUPeBdNOUjqBKr0B1rXb-sdUSSb-6Gks4ym1rnFm2hjkdMUXkhs/s2012/IMG_1152.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2012" data-original-width="1614" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj80LA7p0IhRaxpv6agUswtUMI-pmOUWvadXLA4wiN8E50qNQFCi8KMAhEGqbzivb5jz8vbM47u_-sjY5Zs8FtvFivQG47SqEjuyg4yIql9WuTveg1F69cs1w8Se3VeieRRwkyj6qQwOUPeBdNOUjqBKr0B1rXb-sdUSSb-6Gks4ym1rnFm2hjkdMUXkhs/w321-h400/IMG_1152.jpg" width="321" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Card #5:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBwALxVWnPbwARWc-AzZe_JySrFGG5ewMkgf5AOeKp2YKGlFnDYtEjirbtdRVxy3GBUpO8DX-X0gTR-xwPprM7nZk0_FjepNHj21mAWwO-6h_eIgSDNsc1U1EuhFhcJ3pYd1FXGruMJm_nk28TK4XOhqcrCytKcJAeoerON9KAQ6LVGnMWCY9ah6R5l20/s2356/IMG_1153.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1837" data-original-width="2356" height="313" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBwALxVWnPbwARWc-AzZe_JySrFGG5ewMkgf5AOeKp2YKGlFnDYtEjirbtdRVxy3GBUpO8DX-X0gTR-xwPprM7nZk0_FjepNHj21mAWwO-6h_eIgSDNsc1U1EuhFhcJ3pYd1FXGruMJm_nk28TK4XOhqcrCytKcJAeoerON9KAQ6LVGnMWCY9ah6R5l20/w400-h313/IMG_1153.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Card #6: uses the left over triangles from the previous card.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQXelCJEnYH1ovHUDeAvAe2-ICRbFLOBEFV9YoVaednBjKBKwnsxfBocyQFyH6efbsHCFnEijBBEtRO9xqoLNHeP6yl3nVxE1TIR0qQC8N4nlQRMsH5s-2SpbIXy0pbEOr7W9ccC1j-ihyphenhyphenyPSL_jlCDfRBLmorTWDE4CILBU1vqhbV4SyOPFuZLoIq5EY/s2161/IMG_1154.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2161" data-original-width="1836" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQXelCJEnYH1ovHUDeAvAe2-ICRbFLOBEFV9YoVaednBjKBKwnsxfBocyQFyH6efbsHCFnEijBBEtRO9xqoLNHeP6yl3nVxE1TIR0qQC8N4nlQRMsH5s-2SpbIXy0pbEOr7W9ccC1j-ihyphenhyphenyPSL_jlCDfRBLmorTWDE4CILBU1vqhbV4SyOPFuZLoIq5EY/w340-h400/IMG_1154.jpg" width="340" /></a></div>Card #7 was for my honey, so I could use a little sappier sentiment. It's time for a new challenge from the <a href="http://www.cutitupchallenges.blogspot.com">Cut It Up Challenge Blog</a>. This week, the challenge is: Stripes AND/OR Dots</p><div style="text-align: center;">Here is my card for your inspiration:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYOZqHBDov_6nn5O52yTQrJvk_biJ2Gk_-G6F7fXffHaTGKXhoUoT-ss-ezyvJo1GiT_XDGVEj2zSWKtR04Z4F3BkDxW2RitHTFFTa4PQXfCuIY6UzWGpuJLQ-M7mT-JgB60p0FZX9YXaJDKCEN6OSGcZlRdn21bVGd42qySps9L-q1wCRC7KRzGuBV6M/s2148/IMG_1185.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2148" data-original-width="1748" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYOZqHBDov_6nn5O52yTQrJvk_biJ2Gk_-G6F7fXffHaTGKXhoUoT-ss-ezyvJo1GiT_XDGVEj2zSWKtR04Z4F3BkDxW2RitHTFFTa4PQXfCuIY6UzWGpuJLQ-M7mT-JgB60p0FZX9YXaJDKCEN6OSGcZlRdn21bVGd42qySps9L-q1wCRC7KRzGuBV6M/w325-h400/IMG_1185.jpg" width="325" /></a></div>I chose to use both dots AND stripes! This card came as a result of a little accident I had in my crafting area this week. I have a very flimsy wire rack that holds a bunch of supplies including a paper pack that contains both of these papers. Well, every once in a while, that rack decides to just let go and fall over! It happened this week and I had to pick everything up and as I was cleaning things off my desk to make this card, I came across the paper pack which has a bunch of scraps all jumbled up in it. I saw some stripes and remembered there were some dotted papers in it as well, so there you go! I die cut the oval and stamped the sentiment, but the card seemed a bit too plain just like that, so I die cut some berry twigs and added red nuvo drops for the berries. It's still a bit plain in my opinion, but it works.<div>Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you will hop over to the <a href="http://www.cutitupchallenges.blogspot.com">Cut It Up blog</a> for the full details of the challenge and to see what the rest of the Design Team has created. </div><div><br /></div><div>Supplies:</div><div>Stamps: Verve "Beyond Measure" sentiment</div><div>Dies: Spellbinders "Classic Ovals, large"; Memory Box "Winterberry Twigs"</div><div><br /></div><div>Challenges:</div><div><a href="http://www.cardsgalorechallenges.blogspot.com">Cards Galore</a>--anything goes</div><div><a href="http://www.unicornchallenge.blogspot.com">Unicorn Challenge #95</a>--dots AND/OR stripes</div><div><a href="http://www.christmaskickstartchallenge.blogspot.com">Christmas Kickstart #83</a>--out on a limb (the branches and berries could be on a limb)</div><div><a href="http://www.audsentimentschallengeblog.blogspot.com">Aud Sentimens #310-</a>-use dies AND/OR Love/anniversary/wedding (I went with dies)</div><div><a href="http://www.incywincydesigns.blogspot.com">Incy Wincy</a>--Valentine/love AND/OR no pictures (I went no pictures)</div><div><a href="http://www.byhscardmakers.blogspot.com">Build You Holiday Stash Cardmakers #42</a>--sketch</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD3g_HdzS0HMS3EwXRzv5fNXyJNJK0nah_onZoSVa-LelzR0db2rQv4lQZVDJZ13nv8OKbqPV_qWnkckYSROvQWmQgD3UrK-eGNEQy0ncQYgmqz9ImdoNinoNnl3epMS47L7YBLMfZq7sblvNuIi4v95BVcOD8DQehKjaYdznUfi-Qn2lsZM1Ghd7C5Ys/s400/BYSHC%20Sketch%20Challenge42.png" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="399" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD3g_HdzS0HMS3EwXRzv5fNXyJNJK0nah_onZoSVa-LelzR0db2rQv4lQZVDJZ13nv8OKbqPV_qWnkckYSROvQWmQgD3UrK-eGNEQy0ncQYgmqz9ImdoNinoNnl3epMS47L7YBLMfZq7sblvNuIi4v95BVcOD8DQehKjaYdznUfi-Qn2lsZM1Ghd7C5Ys/w199-h200/BYSHC%20Sketch%20Challenge42.png" width="199" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><a href="http://www.pixiessnippetsplayground.blogspot.com">Snippets Playground #474</a>--anything goes with snippets (The papers were cut from snippets of 12x12 papers, the ovals and branches were cut from snippets of card stock)</div><div><a href="http://www.lilpatcofcraftyfriends.blogspot.com">Lil' Patch of Crafty Friends #224</a>--anything goes</div><div><a href="http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com">Word Art Wednesday #636</a>--anything goes with uplifting sentiment</div><div><a href="http://www.daranddiane.blogspot.com">Double D</a>--patterned paper</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjj4k0gQFOOCCo1ctgM3sCaFbqB8XcouxnOBolMfmvL907SSw3GEMkgOAXV-pva6-kL9T56mYt5Wi5KXUuQvBVQOHCv0UxjlTLDRMcwQiQ7ykZ4fX9jUJ8b5lr5qUDlGnXPTNEUIcezlwwwXLjhnmbWV0vIhTn20Y7lutvCt6qIB8nntAxjEbtwt4t5jKE/s640/collage.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="360" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjj4k0gQFOOCCo1ctgM3sCaFbqB8XcouxnOBolMfmvL907SSw3GEMkgOAXV-pva6-kL9T56mYt5Wi5KXUuQvBVQOHCv0UxjlTLDRMcwQiQ7ykZ4fX9jUJ8b5lr5qUDlGnXPTNEUIcezlwwwXLjhnmbWV0vIhTn20Y7lutvCt6qIB8nntAxjEbtwt4t5jKE/w113-h200/collage.jpg" width="113" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div>Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01425481644236086193noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8561345254855540775.post-6101597138811482662024-02-12T00:00:00.000-08:002024-02-13T18:56:14.494-08:00The Future<p>Hello, everyone! It's time for a new challenge from the <a href="http://www.carabbiemomentsofcraft.blogspot.com">Creative Moments Challenge blog</a>. The theme is: CAS (Clean and Simple). I am using an image from one of our fabulous sponsors: Hetty Claire.</p><div style="text-align: center;"> Here is my card:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg76eAqRiHjzQxOW14EhMuzWmVhaFbIsh0WTGqKCKPiGTuJ74HwZ5CrQ3PPrZXWHzVX7kne0DofdjbiKQGGBQ0cMLlCtHMCJzVdHiBaYLhuYebuSf_FO2Q3EG9U-DLc1Hxglqc91mLOmjE9-H_VrbWgXwXyzfSXwv-N4wD5NnCDldORTXdUEk0syUAiYVc/s3300/Picture1.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2475" data-original-width="3300" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg76eAqRiHjzQxOW14EhMuzWmVhaFbIsh0WTGqKCKPiGTuJ74HwZ5CrQ3PPrZXWHzVX7kne0DofdjbiKQGGBQ0cMLlCtHMCJzVdHiBaYLhuYebuSf_FO2Q3EG9U-DLc1Hxglqc91mLOmjE9-H_VrbWgXwXyzfSXwv-N4wD5NnCDldORTXdUEk0syUAiYVc/w640-h480/Picture1.png" width="640" /></a></div>Sometimes I really struggle with CAS cards, but I have been getting better at them. I really love how this one turned out! The image was done in a little bit of grayscale already, so I decided to add just the tiniest bit of color. Then I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die, stamped the sentiment and added a couple die cut hearts in a very light pink. What do you think?<div>You have all month to play along. Isn't this little lion the cutest!!?? I'm working on my Valentine's Day cards and this is the first one completed. It's a bit of an unusual color scheme with the yellow, but I'm working on a batch with several different patterned papers and the yellow makes more sense with some of them than with others. The background was created with a stencil from Simon Says Stamp; it's perfect for Valentine's Day!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>Thanks so much for stopping by! It's time for a new challenge on the <a href="https://2craftycrittercrazies.blogspot.com/">Critter Crazy Challenge blog</a>! As always, it is a month long challenge: Anything Goes as long as you feature a creature. Here is my card for your inspiration:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguUJG40tU01zScHuyCrXg21CuoMleuls3Be5W3DeORyiwWLjA8RbLBjsNdCZWmZMgofOyy-i2hZd0v9RBQenFxkFkZujLi7piYogIUXYgHj2Oj3y3IfZ-m27cmd7ZCAnPFYIIMCdd5S_ONzF3gb46Q8aJHJRKwqJBnxKyn-CQe9ZYA3X_dzdBGXkzPnsc/s2296/IMG_1091.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2296" data-original-width="1883" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguUJG40tU01zScHuyCrXg21CuoMleuls3Be5W3DeORyiwWLjA8RbLBjsNdCZWmZMgofOyy-i2hZd0v9RBQenFxkFkZujLi7piYogIUXYgHj2Oj3y3IfZ-m27cmd7ZCAnPFYIIMCdd5S_ONzF3gb46Q8aJHJRKwqJBnxKyn-CQe9ZYA3X_dzdBGXkzPnsc/w328-h400/IMG_1091.jpg" width="328" /></a></div>The reason for this card is a LONG story!!! The short version is that I took my female kitten in to the dr. to be spayed and there were complications. She has had two additional surgeries (one because she ripped all the stitches out and had an open wound) and a couple rounds of antibiotics and sedatives to try to keep her calm. That is a joke! Anyone ever try to keep a kitten calm??? Yeah, it's not working real great. Anyway, I digress. The Dr. has been amazing, even coming in on his day off to do the second surgery and not charging me for various things. So, I thought it would be a good idea to send him a fun little "thank you" card. I kept it nice and simple, just adding a black cat (like my Shadow) and adding the sentiment and a few die cut stars.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>Thanks for stopping by! It's time for a new challenge from the <a href="http://www.cutitupchallenges.blogspot.com">Cut It Up Challenge Blog</a>. The two blue snowflakes and the sentiment were recycled from a commercial card we received last year. The card was too pretty to throw away, so I cut it up a created a new card! I used some scraps of patterned paper for the different panels and layered them on holographic card stock before adhering them to a navy card base. I die cut a light gray snowflake and layered it in between the two blue snowflakes. I also matted the sentiment on holographic card stock and finished everything off with some silver gems. You can see the shine from the holographic paper and the sparkle on the blue snowflakes a bit better in the photo below:<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNHKbm1Gpt2Hb3eRkxcEhLvUClcS3ZVkYa2cETWkwpy4LP-7t_Edff_EquuBh9uoiLWLxYGDGFvNrTkUJeYRhBfv9zRRLt7C7RpHzxmiYsnEOzSxi4p_CCSYbEM8i_MAqz_i7QkUfCcJLghEt-gFsFCChlOArXci5rawxkjcB6Zv4REq6-Pv9rImgRRFw/s2518/IMG_1093.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1993" data-original-width="2518" height="316" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNHKbm1Gpt2Hb3eRkxcEhLvUClcS3ZVkYa2cETWkwpy4LP-7t_Edff_EquuBh9uoiLWLxYGDGFvNrTkUJeYRhBfv9zRRLt7C7RpHzxmiYsnEOzSxi4p_CCSYbEM8i_MAqz_i7QkUfCcJLghEt-gFsFCChlOArXci5rawxkjcB6Zv4REq6-Pv9rImgRRFw/w400-h316/IMG_1093.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>Thanks so much for stopping by! A couple months ago, I was asked to be a guest designer on the <a href="http://www.trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.com">C.R.A.F.T. Challenge blog</a> for the month of January!! This week's challenge is: "Christmas" and our fabulous sponsor is Beccy's Place.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This is the card I created for your inspiration:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzTW35cvHfTjyfDqqCefeTaEqnYMA__RzdH-Nunsoj_1P775uaAIXZvVjowPGF0KUSZt7Yx2tIdXewfLvTR4iNN4XoVqSKD9gsdLuz8I0yxLRvDH7u6TjXYVZ50FCg1oKzqU8KVfwxG8OkiRP3yyohDLcGskIyx_AKgE5cxP5yhF2n6GtpVCmBWop8n-4/s1911/IMG_1089.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1911" data-original-width="1546" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzTW35cvHfTjyfDqqCefeTaEqnYMA__RzdH-Nunsoj_1P775uaAIXZvVjowPGF0KUSZt7Yx2tIdXewfLvTR4iNN4XoVqSKD9gsdLuz8I0yxLRvDH7u6TjXYVZ50FCg1oKzqU8KVfwxG8OkiRP3yyohDLcGskIyx_AKgE5cxP5yhF2n6GtpVCmBWop8n-4/w324-h400/IMG_1089.jpg" width="324" /></a></div>I colored up the candy cane image and then used glue to adhere real baker's twine to the ribbon on the image. And then I added a button tied with the same twine. I think it's a fun little touch that adds so much interest. The three vertical patterned paper strips were already cut to width I just had to trim them to the correct length--the perfect way to use up some scraps. Here is a mid-challenge reminder for our "Fantasy" challenge over on the <a href="http://www.carabbiemomentsofcraft.blogspot.com">Creative Moments Challenge blog</a>. You still have almost 2 weeks to play along with us. Our fabulous sponsor is Sheepski Designs. Here is my card:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSu-qFqp-toqLVs96ersaWff7685dytkMQsfx3vpvl0UPrK1W7STEJqrfvRXRywIO2u9NBpdUF3LWxz2ZLil1KYpnJ9_wBLFY5idsD2Stwi_z3WPvyNMpbpilBP5MYImiIZ6BwBkqFOHduxg2lNqAK5gm1PPTfzQZMmQob8Ia-aqXTkNJCDNECTsWO_Ls/s3300/Picture2.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2475" data-original-width="3300" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSu-qFqp-toqLVs96ersaWff7685dytkMQsfx3vpvl0UPrK1W7STEJqrfvRXRywIO2u9NBpdUF3LWxz2ZLil1KYpnJ9_wBLFY5idsD2Stwi_z3WPvyNMpbpilBP5MYImiIZ6BwBkqFOHduxg2lNqAK5gm1PPTfzQZMmQob8Ia-aqXTkNJCDNECTsWO_Ls/w640-h480/Picture2.png" width="640" /></a></div>I love snow (though I HATE the cold weather), but I know a lot of people don't, so I created this nice spring inspired card to help cheer you up if you are one of those people! I started with the cute little gnome images and went from there. I picked some garden inspired papers in happy colors and paired them with a fun sketch. The "hello" is die cut and the "Friend" is stamped directly onto the patterned paper--I just love that look when I remember it is an option!<div><br /><div>Remember, you still have almost 2 weeks to play. Today's card is made from the top part of that same upcycled Christmas card. The scene is just gorgeous and just didn't need anything except a sentiment really. I die cut the scene with a stitched rectangle die, stamped the sentiment in the top center and added a few metal rhinestones to highlight the sentiment.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEituGYHfP0Q-dkVdh2OxQ8VeH8nbUFYZnFaL4cHNmOcNvEI_a5vKGteEQURE4jq5OsPmpBCmnk-Dcm4cvSXPel7UvD15m3YvXZtsBHunED_OdZZvxBKJS8h8l4FihmL3w1rCEN-Q5s20WGpAhnwNPxAmFw0EKdIdZot4tWLF5PWwoCmArYv6QuU8RFFDXM/s2235/IMG_1081.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1804" data-original-width="2235" height="323" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEituGYHfP0Q-dkVdh2OxQ8VeH8nbUFYZnFaL4cHNmOcNvEI_a5vKGteEQURE4jq5OsPmpBCmnk-Dcm4cvSXPel7UvD15m3YvXZtsBHunED_OdZZvxBKJS8h8l4FihmL3w1rCEN-Q5s20WGpAhnwNPxAmFw0EKdIdZot4tWLF5PWwoCmArYv6QuU8RFFDXM/w400-h323/IMG_1081.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>There are all these little foiled dots in the trees and sparkle and shine so beautifully. Some of them are just too pretty to throw away, you know? One of them was large enough that I was able to cut it in half and create two cards out of it. This card is the bottom half of the card. I die cut the image with a rectangle die and matted it on some holographic card stock that I die cut with a stitched rectangle die. I then matted both onto a red card stock base. It didn't need much as the sentiment was already included on the cared, so I added some die cut snowflakes that were cut out of a white glitter paper.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju7qzSHUty0nMD4gRehWEFkMDPAsYJL45QO_xugRgrXa9lHD4us7jl3bs9ohfV1aKU4bxlxryVnBom-S476TX9f8i8pRvxBDHJSMdinVHfYHbQfCMz-f1K77WbnzXQVXuVe_p-vCt73-mxKKIA6GeMkzCONt7aqB8lvwOIYH_-6-cAA63_zxtqLzJb6Jc/s2524/IMG_1079.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; text-align: left;">Back in the fall, I won a chance to be a guest designer at <a href="https://secretstamper.com/category/creative-creases-challenge/">Creative Creases</a> and this is my week to design for them!! So fun!! The challenge is always anything goes as long as you use a fun fold. I don't often create cards with fun folds because it takes more time, but I do really enjoy making them, so this was a fun challenge for me. Here is the card I created:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixHUi_GiUY3UGLAW6zOQQBqRhJCVEQ8I9LCGbDUfdGJqP4gwMea2wNM47W3WfnqgYAnP8kA4fYBd-kUSSgesRbkC3VhG739N1rwuY4iAqGGgY2CLRrECep3t7B7WRoOA4q6_DYFaigUbWaJWfBv9506mIol5Z-aF9BsLIupk5wZwFdeVCTXs-BbbodRLc/s2005/IMG_1084.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2005" data-original-width="1498" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixHUi_GiUY3UGLAW6zOQQBqRhJCVEQ8I9LCGbDUfdGJqP4gwMea2wNM47W3WfnqgYAnP8kA4fYBd-kUSSgesRbkC3VhG739N1rwuY4iAqGGgY2CLRrECep3t7B7WRoOA4q6_DYFaigUbWaJWfBv9506mIol5Z-aF9BsLIupk5wZwFdeVCTXs-BbbodRLc/w299-h400/IMG_1084.jpg" width="299" /></a></div>It is called a tri-shutter card and it is the first time I have tried making one. I used <a href="https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/trishuttercard/">this tutorial</a> and it was actually quite simple in technique to create even though it looks very fancy,<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJCq-awZp0OeoUXWeDuegx7zUHTA_WC7yJkliGlhS0shQ__w2j298rK7ILkzLCijnQMj35E0bdlltN4fbbRUoZEVbdqOk7DkuGvb_uB7iroA2k33a4-lc29WqUhVFZ6LPaFL3Yfmr87_Ic3IvscsJuWa2PFvID7lEM6bXcnhbSLL-Zc910jtIed0RnWDM/s2281/IMG_1085.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1411" data-original-width="2281" height="248" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJCq-awZp0OeoUXWeDuegx7zUHTA_WC7yJkliGlhS0shQ__w2j298rK7ILkzLCijnQMj35E0bdlltN4fbbRUoZEVbdqOk7DkuGvb_uB7iroA2k33a4-lc29WqUhVFZ6LPaFL3Yfmr87_Ic3IvscsJuWa2PFvID7lEM6bXcnhbSLL-Zc910jtIed0RnWDM/w400-h248/IMG_1085.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>I created a wintery "hello" card that I thought would be fun to send to someone to brighten up their cold winter day. I added a lot of snowflakes with both stamps and dies and used some pretty winter papers to go with my theme. The text paper actually says "Let It Snow" repeatedly.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgA-OYSUSJXFBSCN98LwYNVzTlSneIbQKXh7NDEUHSRVMBxdtFUHn4G5anZIG5ZXP0tYSeLp_zJQ2G0c461K-4CUVw94A9v6603ZuFcBcEasDbjpOnpv4The04DOXXtaKy3xNlAnAQ3Kn6ubrDM6wM5gJRWFhrumh9otkzA609-fT2R53VCWoyic2sPc2g/s2977/IMG_1086.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1520" data-original-width="2977" height="204" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgA-OYSUSJXFBSCN98LwYNVzTlSneIbQKXh7NDEUHSRVMBxdtFUHn4G5anZIG5ZXP0tYSeLp_zJQ2G0c461K-4CUVw94A9v6603ZuFcBcEasDbjpOnpv4The04DOXXtaKy3xNlAnAQ3Kn6ubrDM6wM5gJRWFhrumh9otkzA609-fT2R53VCWoyic2sPc2g/w400-h204/IMG_1086.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>Thanks for stopping by and make sure you head over to the <a href="https://secretstamper.com/category/creative-creases-challenge/">Creative Creases blog</a> to get all the details and some fabulous inspiration from the Design Team!<p></p><div style="text-align: left;">Supplies:</div><div style="text-align: left;">Stamps: Rubbernecker Stamps "Snowman with arms"; Papertrey Ink "Fab Flakes"; Cardz TV "Just Sayin'" inside sentiment</div><div style="text-align: left;">Dies: Rubbernecker Stamps "Snowman with arms"; Papertrey Ink "Fab Flakes"; Verve "Classy Label"</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Challenges:</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.cardsgalorechallenges.blogspot.com">Cards Galore Challenges #119</a>--anything goes</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.die-cut-divas.blogspot.com">Die Cut Divas</a>--nbus (never before used schtuff); this is the first time using the "hello" die, the first time using some of these snowflake dies</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.craftycalendarchallenge.blogspot.com">Crafty Calendar-</a>-anything goes</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.welovestamping.co.uk">We Love Stamping</a>--new (new "hello" die and new technique)</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.movingalongwiththetimes.blogspot.com">Moving Along With the Times</a>--new craft item (the "hello" die)</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.craftygalscornerchallenges.blogspot.com">Crafty Gals Corner #251</a>--winter fun</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.giveacrafteracookie.blogspot.com">If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #188</a>--winter wishes</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEildqLHeau0Ko9DMeE6ZBzHlLbL8wIL2nTORvvQMbhBjpwzN2amza5bdOfy3blLqeLno6X58noOdQ_S4-vCGLtDuxzbnibtmpWYUi1FKUbqMvqKhYrQezz2cYKfSIX3Xaa2gW9frguMPVRZsRXjYCNRGKPrz_xNLUHKHj7XTCupaF7R3Yk0i1X4MBg5gPM/s320/1jan.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="320" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEildqLHeau0Ko9DMeE6ZBzHlLbL8wIL2nTORvvQMbhBjpwzN2amza5bdOfy3blLqeLno6X58noOdQ_S4-vCGLtDuxzbnibtmpWYUi1FKUbqMvqKhYrQezz2cYKfSIX3Xaa2gW9frguMPVRZsRXjYCNRGKPrz_xNLUHKHj7XTCupaF7R3Yk0i1X4MBg5gPM/w200-h200/1jan.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><a href="http://www.mynbus.blogspot.com">NBUS #58</a>--never before used schtuff (first time using the "hello" die and some of the snowflake dies)<div><a href="http://www.fabnfunkychallenges.blogspot.com">Fab n' Funky #587</a>--stamp it</div><div><a href="http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com">Word Art Wednesday #631</a>--anything goes with uplifting sentiment</div><div><a href="http://www.thepapershelter.blogspot.com">Paper Shelter #579</a>--all things new (new "hello" die and new technique)</div><div><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><p> </p></div>Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01425481644236086193noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8561345254855540775.post-29349187037794504212024-01-18T00:00:00.000-08:002024-01-18T19:01:49.764-08:00Small spaces<p> I have exciting news!! A couple months ago, I was asked to be a guest designer on the <a href="http://www.trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.com">C.R.A.F.T. Challenge blog</a> for the month of January!! This week's challenge is: "Inspired By a Book" and our fabulous sponsor is <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/alldressedupstamps?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Search_US_DSA_GGL_ENG_General-Nonbrand_Shop_All&utm_ag=US-EN_DSA-Shop%252BPages&utm_custom1=_k_CjwKCAiAkp6tBhB5EiwANTCx1Jir-K4P4KTPja6z5XAjXn8nTc-wJ7TbKo-MlUirXIU4F08rAlUbVRoCfysQAvD_BwE_k_&utm_content=go_19243288496_143042704783_667996604572_dsa-1640180280716_c_&utm_custom2=19243288496&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAkp6tBhB5EiwANTCx1Jir-K4P4KTPja6z5XAjXn8nTc-wJ7TbKo-MlUirXIU4F08rAlUbVRoCfysQAvD_BwE">All Dressed Up</a>.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This is the card I created for your inspiration:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZaqv4uMd54bY8v3oVtdgzPqXF6TzUbcLyyleTS6r2vRUZQzo_F5ZBVLzy5t7yjumSdOzHasjS0x9pAyp1Iwito89maPIcx5RfOB6FnvDnoA8c96WYmJcGC5QQFFDl73qbBFKFQL47fG-SEpOGOsRn_4hn9Uo9Pot5M5eX2CzI2-ZplU5z1sYE9KG0hkk/s2108/IMG_1077.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2108" data-original-width="2072" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZaqv4uMd54bY8v3oVtdgzPqXF6TzUbcLyyleTS6r2vRUZQzo_F5ZBVLzy5t7yjumSdOzHasjS0x9pAyp1Iwito89maPIcx5RfOB6FnvDnoA8c96WYmJcGC5QQFFDl73qbBFKFQL47fG-SEpOGOsRn_4hn9Uo9Pot5M5eX2CzI2-ZplU5z1sYE9KG0hkk/w394-h400/IMG_1077.jpg" width="394" /></a></div>My book of inspiration is "Thumbelina". I remember reading that waaaaaaay back when I was a kid and when I saw this image, that's exactly what I thought of as Thumbelina was no bigger than your thumb. This little fairy has to be pretty tiny to be sitting beneath the flowers. I colored her up with my Spectrum Noir markers and added some gold glitter pen to her wings. You can see it in the photo below:<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyQfWM4znZqeJxjy99Fn8EU0qptI-sWiJbGB3O_A5mmR778KSN1HyHwrwUCHwoJke-7yEoz1mI5V8XqjHBMkhfWEcl6V-HbUkABC64-pjN0ikrogqbj-fWtgaBjDethZIswQAHP_ng-ON95PKsO_Bs3EYtqEvd4DsHVbQYSD369pEOiVG574iUutKo-es/s2459/IMG_1078.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2459" data-original-width="2282" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyQfWM4znZqeJxjy99Fn8EU0qptI-sWiJbGB3O_A5mmR778KSN1HyHwrwUCHwoJke-7yEoz1mI5V8XqjHBMkhfWEcl6V-HbUkABC64-pjN0ikrogqbj-fWtgaBjDethZIswQAHP_ng-ON95PKsO_Bs3EYtqEvd4DsHVbQYSD369pEOiVG574iUutKo-es/w371-h400/IMG_1078.jpg" width="371" /></a></div>I stamped the sentiment and liked the bold black so much that I added a black mat and card base to make that pink really pop. I die cut a fun corner flourish element and added some hot pink rhinestones and it was done!<div>Make sure you stop by the <a href="http://www.trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.com">C.R.A.F.T. It's time for a new challenge from the <a href="http://www.cutitupchallenges.blogspot.com">Cut It Up Challenge Blog</a>. This week, the challenge is: New Year (you can create a project using something NEW, using a NEW technique, or maybe just a NEW year's card).</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div style="text-align: center;">Here is my card for your inspiration:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2SlSMsTyCor24MEq5TFO_T8l2w4IzAOji1D6ZvriW8cOJ7Ee4U32erz2Q2it3ta-EH_PTfflDoGVXHgfTedlQp-f83WbApttcZTPjK9JBDNpXiZloCPcVU3dEZXMA-eYfuw_bPytlRyOgzUWcwBMvYZVNxbdvCNSSrTHIOYG4KJGhG251TPPyvPLhQSw/s2269/IMG_1065.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2269" data-original-width="1843" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2SlSMsTyCor24MEq5TFO_T8l2w4IzAOji1D6ZvriW8cOJ7Ee4U32erz2Q2it3ta-EH_PTfflDoGVXHgfTedlQp-f83WbApttcZTPjK9JBDNpXiZloCPcVU3dEZXMA-eYfuw_bPytlRyOgzUWcwBMvYZVNxbdvCNSSrTHIOYG4KJGhG251TPPyvPLhQSw/w325-h400/IMG_1065.jpg" width="325" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;">I didn't receive any new crafty items for Christmas, so I went with the NEW Year's day theme. I had this paper pack sitting on my desk from the previous card I had made (you can see it <a href="https://wirewrapture.blogspot.com/2024/01/happy-new-year.html">here</a>). As I was flipping through it, I cam across this gorgeous paper and just had to use it. I paired it with two different shades of gray card stock and used a teal card stock for the die cut letters. I colored up my sweet little kitty in my favorite gray (gray cats have always been my favorite), gave him a party hat and finished everything off with some leftover die cut stars (left over from the same project mentioned above).</div><div>Thanks so much for stopping by! A couple months ago, I was asked to be a guest designer on the <a href="http://www.trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.com">C.R.A.F.T. Challenge blog</a> for the month of January!! I flaked out and missed last week's challenge, so I am starting today. This week's challenge is: "New" and our fabulous sponsor is The Paper Shelter.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This is the card I created for your inspiration:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvocRFvcMIbpWPepmL2u-zeUn7w9-_RHRC2Rb-P-J4lY-6XIO7NuCTmUgcToOSqIQQNjJ188BbpXZKJTp9Q50vwpLrTKvA149Pqm-Phi5LAh5gV2Rdjgefx7jZ9I1ujZHzK5UAB5YC-qCQ8uB_Yyp-VFEzQgOIveOxqv7xwwixhrnzmw6YRpNHkfc-RUo/s2092/IMG_1064.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2053" data-original-width="2092" height="393" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvocRFvcMIbpWPepmL2u-zeUn7w9-_RHRC2Rb-P-J4lY-6XIO7NuCTmUgcToOSqIQQNjJ188BbpXZKJTp9Q50vwpLrTKvA149Pqm-Phi5LAh5gV2Rdjgefx7jZ9I1ujZHzK5UAB5YC-qCQ8uB_Yyp-VFEzQgOIveOxqv7xwwixhrnzmw6YRpNHkfc-RUo/w400-h393/IMG_1064.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>I came across a challenge that was to use the colors gray, yellow and white, and it intrigued me so much I wanted to give it a try. I usually stay away from color challenges because I'm TERRIBLE at mixing colors, but for whatever reason, I thought I could do this one. I think it created a very bright, modern, celebration card and it is so fun!! I colored up my handsome little dude and fussy cut him out so I could add him wherever I wanted. I didn't have the exact shade of yellow card stock that I was looking for, so I used a pale yellow cardstock to die cut the letters from and once they were die cut I used my Spectrum Noir markers to create an ombre affect on each letter. It's very subtle, but I think it is a fun touch. I finished everything off with some die cut stars.<div>Make sure you stop by the <a href="http://www.trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.com">C.R.A.F.T. It's time for a new challenge from the <a href="http://www.carabbiemomentsofcraft.blogspot.com">Creative Moments Challenge blog</a>. The theme is: Fantasy. I am using an image from one of our fabulous sponsors: Sheepski Designs.</p><div style="text-align: center;"> Here is my card:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4nFNUU1UARlYH5Y0BiLllepl6z_KSbyEQaJ5k-X5UbcvDMdFW5z9pgiDfqPpNFAQb0WJxM2O2rIsm4tDsurnetsbREH7EMaEhZhkSVR05bb39deKeIOHynNWm76dNw7VU7z0bEpflFvKqzmjiLXqthFycqo1KQ_yD1gHFFYcaH3mLMwHem0DshUhuB4I/s3300/Picture1.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2475" data-original-width="3300" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4nFNUU1UARlYH5Y0BiLllepl6z_KSbyEQaJ5k-X5UbcvDMdFW5z9pgiDfqPpNFAQb0WJxM2O2rIsm4tDsurnetsbREH7EMaEhZhkSVR05bb39deKeIOHynNWm76dNw7VU7z0bEpflFvKqzmjiLXqthFycqo1KQ_yD1gHFFYcaH3mLMwHem0DshUhuB4I/w640-h480/Picture1.png" width="640" /></a></div>Isn't this unicorn just gorgeous??!! Andrea Norris is the artist behind Sheepski Designs and she is very talented! This purple watercolor look paper was on my desk (my daughter had just returned it along with some other stuff as she was working on cleaning out her room) and I really wanted to use it. So, I pulled out some other papers from the same pack and went with a soft, magical, purple color scheme. The vertical layer is a nice pearlescant paper and has a beautiful sheen to it. You can see that a little bit in the photo below as well as the gold sparkle pen I used on the unicorn's horn. I finished everything off with some large gold sequins and some elegant gold die cuts. I had forgotten about both of these dies and I was very excited to pull them out and use them again. <br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">, <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmUx16IatRJMUCM2zeoPJdhgLLpjZ4EFieGazs49hzz8Zzf-3avxiZ-lBYgAilog06GN2_aee4bIBKjdMIs8-YJI6FAi7jHXJN81e4zbAdssFu9r1r9eHhk2z7TSfe25DLjwuCGS0n6RaWZmAhI1a1A93C0ArBExAS3O5EfL3Di0jEhZbmVQHyLeHT6WA/s2815/IMG_1062.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2742" data-original-width="2815" height="390" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmUx16IatRJMUCM2zeoPJdhgLLpjZ4EFieGazs49hzz8Zzf-3avxiZ-lBYgAilog06GN2_aee4bIBKjdMIs8-YJI6FAi7jHXJN81e4zbAdssFu9r1r9eHhk2z7TSfe25DLjwuCGS0n6RaWZmAhI1a1A93C0ArBExAS3O5EfL3Di0jEhZbmVQHyLeHT6WA/w400-h390/IMG_1062.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;">You have all month to play along. It's time for a new challenge on the <a href="https://2craftycrittercrazies.blogspot.com/">Critter Crazy Challenge blog</a>! These little penguins are just adorable! I used some white glitter paper on an icicle border die for an icy touch. And to add to that, I added some ultra fine glitter to the snowflake to give some more sparkle.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDhiN7p8sPOxug3YVf04pwjpCyHAujVpYxQm_YawPOoEnj6z0t3fuMPw6V9UWS18Jh5qHBRK3-MmvhP9Jd0QGXDo4sXftmTfngFPwN4Sbl4dP4IXKoS8Cm5AMfkcdE8UV7gmtplLtY4AXL75LIl4E23MQ01q3SXP1M4-XrtnaTJ8hLhXCFhFIsy-sUrRw/s2891/IMG_1035.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2891" data-original-width="2173" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDhiN7p8sPOxug3YVf04pwjpCyHAujVpYxQm_YawPOoEnj6z0t3fuMPw6V9UWS18Jh5qHBRK3-MmvhP9Jd0QGXDo4sXftmTfngFPwN4Sbl4dP4IXKoS8Cm5AMfkcdE8UV7gmtplLtY4AXL75LIl4E23MQ01q3SXP1M4-XrtnaTJ8hLhXCFhFIsy-sUrRw/w301-h400/IMG_1035.jpg" width="301" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>Thanks for stopping by! It's time for a new challenge from the <a href="http://www.cutitupchallenges.blogspot.com">Cut It Up Challenge Blog</a>. This week, the challenge is: Anything Goes!!</p><div style="text-align: center;">Here is my card for your inspiration:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBwQiq5ZO8nPL-T6fBAo6tZnKZnLVA2XzRUIK2aMrvDGpaB6TglZHRZ7sr_j6oTaDNXM1Ust_xa8dPIi2SKYxkT0vuwoDss4xCyC-uK2CGaxaDbyzzrsKmpvjmXYH-_X1qwTpPIB2vzllFTiOMVgMR7_VzSYbMGIwSdlLXP-bljl_rBFPrB2E2GafWyco/s2270/IMG_1036.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2270" data-original-width="1741" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBwQiq5ZO8nPL-T6fBAo6tZnKZnLVA2XzRUIK2aMrvDGpaB6TglZHRZ7sr_j6oTaDNXM1Ust_xa8dPIi2SKYxkT0vuwoDss4xCyC-uK2CGaxaDbyzzrsKmpvjmXYH-_X1qwTpPIB2vzllFTiOMVgMR7_VzSYbMGIwSdlLXP-bljl_rBFPrB2E2GafWyco/w306-h400/IMG_1036.jpg" width="306" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Actually, I have a whole bunch of cards. I know they are fall themed, but I'm finishing up a project I started back in October! These were all created using <a href="https://sites.google.com/view/cardsbykendra/kendras-card-challenges?authuser=0">Kendra's Card Template and cutting guide</a>. You end up using 6 sheets of 6x6 paper (use them all up except for a very few tiny scraps) and create 15 cards. It's really fun and I'm finishing up this quarter's cards just in time!! So, here are the rest:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Card #1:</div><div style="text-align: left;">For all of the cards, I used the same 4 colors of card stock: cream, kraft, chocolate and pops of orange on the leaves. I used a woodgrain embossing folder on some of them and orange mulberry paper on most (it's such a great way to add texture and interest), and I used rhinestones from an orange/yellow pack. I tried to keep them all in the "thankful/thinking of you" theme and ended up using two different stamp sets and a single sentiment stamp.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPdy0gT8uT1A_8a6b9qcqqOIxgqftyAAjk8_h42XN96kpkb-8VpmREGDnMTwHnw2fVSi9YBMkDZnEjDJnyDTdVTRLltrn0tuZzJD-vaJWnXQAKjQpTKAszXRPTT-9q8jIurIyKJXVhapFVSW2-z2amOKhtOUznWRvxsnKgXhcGwlnnW9XFnSSSh3caCNA/s2240/IMG_0852.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1756" data-original-width="2240" height="314" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPdy0gT8uT1A_8a6b9qcqqOIxgqftyAAjk8_h42XN96kpkb-8VpmREGDnMTwHnw2fVSi9YBMkDZnEjDJnyDTdVTRLltrn0tuZzJD-vaJWnXQAKjQpTKAszXRPTT-9q8jIurIyKJXVhapFVSW2-z2amOKhtOUznWRvxsnKgXhcGwlnnW9XFnSSSh3caCNA/w400-h314/IMG_0852.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Card #2:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This card was already posted on my blog. I did use a one-off product on this one (meaning I only used it on this one card), but the large sentiment die really fit perfectly in the center and I don't think any of my elements would have worked so well. Here is a mid-challenge reminder for our "It's a Wrap" challenge over on the <a href="http://www.carabbiemomentsofcraft.blogspot.com">Creative Moments Challenge blog</a>. You still have almost 2 weeks to play along with us. We have two sponsors and the image I used today came from All Dressed Up. Here is my card:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDyiOo5ea_HngSlZe2OBSFXim-YiMWIy6n0mhOY5F3EWVYYJFgMyxpGHK04AwFsYV8JseM8vAN9XMI_qg-S3qK0DmmwpjNC0k0iks44P4ZWaqE6o2UjLCF2T5BqyqKdQR8Twhde89cpPvfHWkmZSPfql2j00z5oAGb_i1cwkCDKo_2wueKtzrOjx6a86k/s3300/It's%20a%20wrap.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2475" data-original-width="3300" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDyiOo5ea_HngSlZe2OBSFXim-YiMWIy6n0mhOY5F3EWVYYJFgMyxpGHK04AwFsYV8JseM8vAN9XMI_qg-S3qK0DmmwpjNC0k0iks44P4ZWaqE6o2UjLCF2T5BqyqKdQR8Twhde89cpPvfHWkmZSPfql2j00z5oAGb_i1cwkCDKo_2wueKtzrOjx6a86k/w640-h480/It's%20a%20wrap.png" width="640" /></a></div>I took a little bit different twist on the "It's a Wrap" theme: I created a card celebrating the "wrapping up" of an old year and the beginning of a new year. I die cut some gold glitter numbers, colored up these beauties from All Dressed up and added some gold sequins for a whole lot of sparkle and bling!! I added some gold nuvo glitter pen to the layers of the skirt on the blue dress. You can see it better in the photo below.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizXZVDdRE_7jdGcPpPrWqSEYSscBg95hMrnoXJi2hhMjO6yNNhYszDKywYhIUeuW7I6rLNVbENp3ROdg1lKlYbaimlSuxsCBIB7kPf8Cr2TuYFVJNiOoyMbKABfYqWM4VTEbNkr18c1eE4H48G9tjSfOD8TZ1KJamWsfKqMU_ecj2EJz31MPtGtlsKvTg/s2749/IMG_1033.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2749" data-original-width="2119" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizXZVDdRE_7jdGcPpPrWqSEYSscBg95hMrnoXJi2hhMjO6yNNhYszDKywYhIUeuW7I6rLNVbENp3ROdg1lKlYbaimlSuxsCBIB7kPf8Cr2TuYFVJNiOoyMbKABfYqWM4VTEbNkr18c1eE4H48G9tjSfOD8TZ1KJamWsfKqMU_ecj2EJz31MPtGtlsKvTg/w309-h400/IMG_1033.jpg" width="309" /></a></div>I added a fun party sentiment that is meant for a birthday card, but I thought it worked perfectly for this party card!!<div>Remember, you still have almost 2 weeks to play. We are having a little celebration for him tomorrow morning before church. This is the card I created for him:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi80DDWut5dkdY6NZCECvnPCLh-LqfBu_tYB5lgJ3k9zn3yPzvmu99U_b9LzdMzx-GfcvT1AGNGyTqR_GYhhWwcpuGsirRs0lhoX8nwYpE_0g5Xh9GwrKJnNy7S_XdXULAZevnyoedwfc6pbKsDinThQCje2uAWNmjzOmn4ODe1Xz9PtQR71p2wwK0EPP4/s1972/IMG_1026.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1972" data-original-width="1573" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi80DDWut5dkdY6NZCECvnPCLh-LqfBu_tYB5lgJ3k9zn3yPzvmu99U_b9LzdMzx-GfcvT1AGNGyTqR_GYhhWwcpuGsirRs0lhoX8nwYpE_0g5Xh9GwrKJnNy7S_XdXULAZevnyoedwfc6pbKsDinThQCje2uAWNmjzOmn4ODe1Xz9PtQR71p2wwK0EPP4/w319-h400/IMG_1026.jpg" width="319" /></a></div>I was able to use a piece of patterned paper (well, at least most of it) that I wasn't sure how I was ever going to use. It is a bullseye (target), and I think it caught my eye because the sketch I chose to use had these arrow elements in it. It seemed fitting and nice and manly. So, I die cut it with a stitched rectangle die and matted it on cream card stock before adding it to a chocolate brown card base. The cream really makes it pop! I used the same cream for the sentiment panel and matted it with the brown card stock as well. Die cut two silver arrows and some red hearts and finished it all off with some silver brads.<div><br /></div><div>Supplies:</div><div>Stamp: Verve "Jeremiah 17:7" Plain Jane</div><div>Dies: Verve stars; Spellbinders "A2 Matting Basics A" rectangle and "You Are Here" arrow; MFT "Blueprints 13" stitched rectangle</div><div><br /></div><div>Challenges:</div><div><a href="http://www.doubletroublechallenge.blogspot.com">Double Trouble Challenge #155</a>--Die-cember (Thing #1: use a die cut)</div><div><a href="http://www.cardsgalorechallenges.blogspot.co.uk">Cards Galore #188</a>--anything goes</div><div><a href="http://www.sheepski-designs-challenges.blogspot.com">Sheepski Designs #81</a>--layer it</div><div><a href="http://www.welovestamping.co.uk">We Love Stamping-</a>-winter flowers AND/OR foliage OR anything goes (I chose the anything goes option)</div><div><a href="http://www.sweetsketchwednesday2.blogspot.com">Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 #268</a>--sketch</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifVCSZVBJyRGEHyiIb8FmjGMEmlX9gzmzV6b-CixT5uefUN4_NJ7WoePt2Mg0OrCxFLMhRLJ4lTqZ1IR6bomtzF5SudyN5SU_LqEyvja8gSGYgGDmd2k5WuX6zIWwOd2a8T4oTf5EB__iWbZH8v-iDColqaSjobcT9axBj5ZTibmYTX5wLSikDmPs1Kb8/s399/Sketch%20%23268.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="399" data-original-width="390" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifVCSZVBJyRGEHyiIb8FmjGMEmlX9gzmzV6b-CixT5uefUN4_NJ7WoePt2Mg0OrCxFLMhRLJ4lTqZ1IR6bomtzF5SudyN5SU_LqEyvja8gSGYgGDmd2k5WuX6zIWwOd2a8T4oTf5EB__iWbZH8v-iDColqaSjobcT9axBj5ZTibmYTX5wLSikDmPs1Kb8/w196-h200/Sketch%20%23268.jpg" width="196" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><a href="http://www.pennyschallenges.blogspot.com">Penny's Challenge #561</a>--anything goes</div><div><a href="http://www.pinkgemchallengeblog.blogspot.com">A Gem of a Challenge</a>--anything goes</div><div><a href="http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/">Simon Says Stamp Monday</a>--use dies</div><div><a href="http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com">Word Art Wednesday #626</a>--anything goes with uplifting sentiment</div><div><a href="http://www.asyoulikeitchallenge.blogspot.com">As You Like It</a>--anything goes</div><div><a href="http://www.creativefingerschallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk">Creative Fingers #268</a>--anything goes</div><div><a href="http://www.alphabetchallengeblog.blogspot.com">Alphabet Challenge</a>--S is for stars</div><div><br /></div><div><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p></div>Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01425481644236086193noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8561345254855540775.post-90833531254261529492023-12-15T00:00:00.000-08:002023-12-15T17:19:34.871-08:00Plaid Christmas<p>Happy Friday!!! It's time for a new challenge from the <a href="http://www.cutitupchallenges.blogspot.com">Cut It Up Challenge Blog</a>. This week, the challenge is: Celebrate!</p><div style="text-align: center;">Here is my card for your inspiration:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh68iv-x4Os5jGR0CiQIcBFfe4aBTQBeo9VoxjDLon8NmMPzHpzv_XLvzCLfk-wsSMp6ZS1bMpi0350Wb5VeeeqSiDq9-_E-Hlj4llgGS1yZTmuLuwbMFMzCBoUselHmWlpIrpIVlcv7HAfH8XlIx6BjGhK_udQ5Zr3CecLp3O1R7T9wXSSRa8aKAQ9JMc/s1809/IMG_1010.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1432" data-original-width="1809" height="316" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh68iv-x4Os5jGR0CiQIcBFfe4aBTQBeo9VoxjDLon8NmMPzHpzv_XLvzCLfk-wsSMp6ZS1bMpi0350Wb5VeeeqSiDq9-_E-Hlj4llgGS1yZTmuLuwbMFMzCBoUselHmWlpIrpIVlcv7HAfH8XlIx6BjGhK_udQ5Zr3CecLp3O1R7T9wXSSRa8aKAQ9JMc/w400-h316/IMG_1010.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>Of course, at this time of year, I am all about celebrating Christmas and the birth of Jesus!! So, my celebrate card is a Christmas card, though you can create a project with any celebration in mind. This card was rather quick and easy to create, which is a bonus this time of year. I pulled out two plaid patterned papers from the same pack, cut a bit of red satin ribbon, die cut the snowflake and the banner die (I actually die cut this three times and glued them all together for dimension), stamped the sentiment and adhered everything together finishing it off with some clear rhinestones! Probably one of my fastest in a long time! You can't see it very well in the photo, but the snowflake is die cut from white glitter paper for a bit of fun sparkle!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you will hop over to the <a href="http://www.cutitupchallenges.blogspot.com">Cut It Up blog</a> for the full details of the challenge and to see what the rest of the Design Team has created. </div><div><br /></div><div>Supplies:</div><div>Stamps: Verve "Ornamental Christmas"</div><div>Dies: PaperTrey Ink "Fancy Flakes"; MFT "Blueprints 12" stitched banner</div><div><br /></div><div>Challenges:</div><div><a href="http://www.jinglebellesrock.blogspot.com">Jingle Belles</a>--anything goes (Christmas related, of course!)</div><div><a href="http://www.doubletroublechallenge.blogspot.com">Double Trouble #155</a>--Die-cember (Thing #1: use a die cut; #3: ribbobn, bow, string, cord, twine or washi--I used ribbon; #2: play along with Use Your Stuff challenge--I did!)</div><div><a href="http://www.useyourstuff.blogspot.com">Use Your Stuff #481</a>--wrap it up (I wrapped ribbon around my base layer)</div><div><a href="http://www.shoppingourstash.blogspot.com">Shopping Our Stash #511</a>--whatever the weather (I have snow)</div><div><a href="http://www.christmascardsallyearround.blogspot.com">Christmas Cards All Year 'Round</a>--anything goes</div><div><a href="http://www.cardsgalorechallenges.blogspot.co.uk">Cards Galore #118</a>--anything goes</div><div><a href="http://www.abcchristmaschallenge.blogspot.com">ABC Christmas-</a>-Y is for your choice</div><div><a href="http://www.craftycalendarchallenge.blogspot.com">Crafty Calendar</a>--Christmas themed</div><div><a href="http://www.sheepski-designs-challenges.blogspot.com">Sheepski Designs #81</a>--layer it</div><div><a href="http://www.cinspirations.blogspot.com">Creative Inspirations</a>--Happy Christmas/Happy New Year</div><div><a href="http://www.craftygalscornerchallenges.blogspot.com">Crafty Gals Corner #250</a>--'Tis the Season</div><div><a href="http://www.avenue613.blogspot.com">613 Avenue Create</a>--anything goes with the optional twist: any winter holiday</div><div><a href="http://www.pennyschallenges.blogspot.com">Penny's Challenge #561</a>--anything goes</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.disdigidesignschallenge.blogspot.se">Di's Digi Stamps</a>--any winter holiday</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.sweetstampinchallengeblog.blogspot.com">Sweet Stampin'</a>--Christmas</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.pinkgemchallengeblog.blogspot.com">A Gem of a Challenge</a>--anything goes</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/">Simon Says Stamp Monday</a>--use dies</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.atlanticheartschallenge.blogspot.com">Atlantic Hearts #555-</a>-sketch</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5fRfz8OLaF_4IvSLupu0bxRKD4eansaXNOqWXcJSKBYItS_0Ytn_sydgy5jc1C32HIDPGBidt4VcTKcn7OijcXAhv13si1vKkfF6eYfgoz4UWuBGv-Gd1aFeCBa0Z4eNzpDykswKemOagZkF_pG5R9cIWhcjBKcydfHKx8f4thnBIY1CwNmSuRwyuLGU/s320/Sketch%20555.png" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="256" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5fRfz8OLaF_4IvSLupu0bxRKD4eansaXNOqWXcJSKBYItS_0Ytn_sydgy5jc1C32HIDPGBidt4VcTKcn7OijcXAhv13si1vKkfF6eYfgoz4UWuBGv-Gd1aFeCBa0Z4eNzpDykswKemOagZkF_pG5R9cIWhcjBKcydfHKx8f4thnBIY1CwNmSuRwyuLGU/w160-h200/Sketch%20555.png" width="160" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.fabnfunkychallenges.blogspot.com">Fab n' Funky</a>--Christmas</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.lilredwagon.blogspot.com">Lil' Red Wagon #735</a>--Merry Christmas</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.com">CRAFT #702</a>--Christmas</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.asyoulikeitchallenge.blogspot.com">As You Like It-</a>-anything goes</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.kraftychickschallenge.blogspot.com">Krafty Chicks #694</a>--Christmas</div>Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01425481644236086193noreply@blogger.com20
