It's my turn to share my project of the week on the House That Stamps Built blog. I'm taking a break from my "Inspired by Pinterest" series to bring you a simple masculine card. For a lot of us, masculine cards can be intimidating, so here are a couple of tips:
--Keep it simple
--Consider using an outdoorsy theme (animals and nature scenes always seem good for masculine cards)
Today, I did a little "water coloring" to create this simple, peaceful, beach side theme.
I kept it simple by creating a one-layer card without any added embellishments. I did add some interest by using a stitched die around the edge of the card. And I created an outdoor scene using "Pelican's Piling" and "Grass Border". After adding the sentiment "Thinking of You", it seemed a little too plain, so I added some small birds from "Sandcastle". Again, a little bit of added interest really brings the card up a notch. I hope this gives you a few pointers on creating those "dreaded" masculine cards. Thanks for stopping by!

What great one layer card, the soft background really makes the bird appear to be dimensional, and your water coloring is so soft and well done. Thank you for sharing with us at Cardz 4 Guys!

What a great POTW - and a one layer card - just don't seem to make enough of those either. Your watercoloring is very nice, simple, no added embellishments. Good pointers.
