Mojo Monday and glitter strips

I was all set to enter this card in the Papertrey Ink "Make it Monday" challenge which was to use a strip of scor-tape covered in glitter, and combine it with the Mojo Monday sketch challenge, but realized I was using way too many Verve products and needed to feature some PTI so I made the second card in this post but I'm too lazy to do two postings. : ) I appologize. Anyway, the card stock base is ocean tides from PTI, I have no idea where the darker greens came from. The stamps are from Verve "Accent notes" and "Celebrating You. And there is a glitter strip running down the center of the horizontal panel (a little hard to see). The second picture gives a better picture of the dimension of the flower in the center of the medallion. It is 4 or 5 circles punched out of vellum, scrunched up and held together with a jeweled brad from SU!

The second card uses one of the free downloadable tags PTI created for their 4th anniversary festivities last month. I had colored it in before I figured out what to do with it, resulting in something that I was less than happy with and having a hard time incorporating into a project. But, inspired by the turquoise glitter (Martha Stewart) I used on the glitter strip, I added glitter to the top and bottom sections, and voila! It fit perfectly!! The sentiment is from "Celebrating You" by Verve and I thought this would make a perfect lunch box note (sized 3" square) for my husband, but it might also make a cute birthday gift tag.

Birthday Wishes

My oldest daughter's birthday is next month and I am getting a jump on things this year. This is her birthday card; she has a little stuffed bear (Ty Pluffy, Slumbers) that looks just like this little guy (at least the way I colored him!). This is the Waltzingmouse sketch for this week. The bear (which I stamped and colored three times then cut out various parts and popped them up on pop dots), sentiment and stars are from "To the Moon" by Verve, the flourish is from Inkadinkado. Papers are all DCWV. The button is a clear button; I traced around it onto green cardstock, cut it out and tied it to the button with twine.

Christmas time?

Yeay! Another Christmas card down AND something cleared off my workstation! I had two parts of the medallion sitting on my desk for at least two years just waiting and this card was the perfect opportunity to use it. This is the Mojo Monday sketch combined with the Our Daily Bread Designs challenge to stamp an image over a sentiment. The papers are all from a DCWV Christmas paper pack. I used a Hot Off the Press nested shapes template to create the shapes and edged them with a silver pen, adding a little big of silver thread under the top shape. Ribbon and red ink are from SU! The sentiment is from Richly Blessed by Verve overstamped by a large and two small snowflakes (in silver) from Inkadinkado.

Sweet Stop And Off The Wall Craftiness

More springy cards! The card combines the Sweet Stop sketch with a spin (think spring) and the Off the Wall Craftiness color challenge (pink/yellow/blue). The butterfly image is from Inkadinkado that I stamped in blue, colored with colored pencils and added white dimensional paint (see the second photo).

Spring is coming!

Even though here in the northeast we are supposed to get snow again tonight, spring is coming!! This card combines the Viva La Verve week 4 sketch, JUGS #72 color challenge (kraft, melon berry, light aqua), and the PTI Make it Monday vellum sentiment challenges. The image is from Jo Manning and is part of the digital image package Jak Heath is offering to raise money for a friend just diagnosed with cancer. Love for Daddy

This will be my last posting of Valentine's Day cards for this year! yeay!! getting kind of tired of them myself. I made this one for my three girls to give to their Daddy. It uses the JUGS challenge to use the spotlight technique and the Our Daily Bread Designs "Have a HEART" challenge: use three of the following H. hemp, E. embossing, A. any Daily Bread image or sentiment, R. ribbon or lace, T. tearing or distressing. I don't have any hemp or Daily Bread stamps, so I had to go with the remainging three: embossing (cuttlebug embossing folder), ribbon, and tearing/distressing. The image is from by Lori Designs (see my previous post for info about it). The stamps are from Verve, can't think of what the name is; it's an all sentiment set dedicated to the men in your life.

Sweet Stop 95 and Off The Wall Craftiness45

This week's Sweet Stop sketch challenge is the inspiration for this Valentine's Day card for my in-laws. The digital image is from by lori designs and was part of a fantastic package put together by Jak Heath; donations to benefit a young woman named Katie who is battling cancer. Check out Jak's site to read the whole story. The image is supposed to be three little boys (representing Katie's boys), but as I have three girls--two of them twins--I added pigtails and pleats to the shorts to make them skirts. The love stamp is from SU! The card also fits the theme of Off The Wall Craftiness this week which is to use hearts and/go vintage. Now I'm not a vintage girl, but I did age the image with brown ink to soften it up a bit, and there is definitely a heart.
