Happy Friday!!! It's time for a new challenge from the Cut It Up Challenge Blog. This week, the challenge is: Christmas in July
Here is my card for your inspiration:
Christmas cards are probably my favorite type of card to make, probably because I love Christmas so much!! A couple months ago, I won a prize package from Not 2 Shabby that included two beautiful paper packs and a matching set of ephemera for each. For today's card, I pulled out two sheets of paper, die cut a rectangle from each sheet and then cut the rectangles in half so I could use two different patterns on two different cards. This way, they both have the stitching from the rectangle die. I added a piece of wide satin ribbon across the join to hide it. Then I die cut a fancy frame out of gold paper. It's actually a solid piece, but I cut out the inside with a craft knife to create the frame. Then I heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder onto a piece of white card stock, adhered a piece of ornament ephemera and glued the whole piece behind the frame. Then I die cut the layers of the poinsettia, inked the embossed veins and adhered them all together and glued on the card. I finished everything off with some gold Nuvo drops. Unfortunately, I forgot I had added them and was not being careful with the card and accidently smeared several of the drops with another piece of paper. So, I carefully cleaned up the edges and remade them as best as I could. I ended up with a few more in the bottom corner because I had to cover up some rogue spots. Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you will hop over to the Cut It Up blog for the full details of the challenge and to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.

This is super cute - great idea to use ornament images to complement the paper.

Wonderful card, I really love that ornament paper! (You don't know how many Nuvo drop accidents I've had - you're not alone!) Thanks for sharing with us at Sparkles Christmas Challenge.
Simply gorgeous card! What a haul. Thank you for joining us at Tuesday Morning Sketches.
This is a lovely card. The challenge this month is to add glitter in some way. I know it's sometimes difficult to take a picture of some of the glitters, so can you let us know what you glittered on the card. Arlene, DT at Die Cut Divas.
