Flying High

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built and this week the challenge is: Monochromatic.

And here is the card I created for your inspiration:
I used a lot of the same elements as my Design Team card a couple weeks ago.  These hot air balloons are just perfect for masculine cards!  But while the other card was very colorful, this one is all blues.  I stenciled the sky with some clouds, colored my balloon with my spectrum noir markers and fussy cut it out.  I used foam tape to pop up my balloon and sentiment banner and the two small die cut clouds.  I used a couple thin strips of card stock to add a little dimension (but less than than the others) to the larger cloud.  For a fun touch to fit the sketch I chose, I punched out tiny circles with a hole punch.  I used a circle die as a template, made evenly spaced pencil marks along the inside of the circle and then used the hole punch to make the pattern.  Rather quick and easy and I have a masculine birthday card ready to go in my stash!
Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will hop over to the House blog to see the rest of the DT's creations and then get inky and play along with us.  And if you need any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your ENTIRE order coupon code over in my left sidebar.

Supplies:
Stamps: Repeat Impressions "Soaring by to say Hi" and "Hot Air Balloon Cluster" I used the largest balloon
Dies: MFT "Blueprints 13" stitched rectangle; Paper Smooches "Cute Clouds"
Stencil: Taylored Expressions "Set the Scene: Clouds"

Challenges:

Cardz TV #137--anything goes
A Gem of a Challenge--anything goes
Double Trouble #80--Something, Anything, Everything (Thing #1: anything goes; Thing #3: color {I used my Spectrum Noir markers})

The hot air balloons are so versatile and make a great masculine card. Love the blues you used and the balloon is very stunning against the beautiful clouds.

Fabulous card, Heather! I really like your idea of the punched holes to give the balloon the illusion of movement. Great dimension, too. Thank you for playing along with us at Double Trouble #80. -- Melanie R. (DT)

This is awesome! I love the blue and white colour scheme and the focal point in the corner vs the center of the card. Everything about this makes my heart sing! Thanks for sharing with us at Double Trouble :)

WOW such a cool card. I love your inked clouds in the background and popped out clouds in the front--with a perfectly colored hot air balloon. Your punched out circles showing the background paper is clever. You did a fabulous job with the sketch, thank you for joining us--Sharon DT Stick It Down

Making juice is relatively easier than making smoothies unless something goes horribly wrong. But the key in the juicing process is the flavor balance. This helps you to juice out the delightfully fresh juices out of your PortOBlend with much ease and convenience as compared to the traditional blenders.
