Plaid Bear Hug

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built and this week it is a fun Designer's Choice Challenge!   Cheri has challenged us with "A Bear Hug".
And here is the card I created for your inspiration:
I just LOVE this adorable image with the kitty loving his bear friend!!  And after this week, it might be one of my favorite images to paper piece!  How cute is that plaid bear??  I can image it in so many other patterns and colors.  I stamped/partially stamped the image three times.  I stamped it on to plain white card stock twice, once for the main panel and once for the cat as it was easier to piece him ONTO the bear rather than the bear onto the cat (plus the dimension works better that way).  Then I stamped the bear onto the plaid paper.  It looked too plain without a sentiment, but the layout really didn't leave any place for one.  So, I curved my stamp and stamped it around the edge of the circle.  I really like how this looks; it adds a really fun look.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will hop over to the House blog to see the rest of the DT's creations and then get inky and play along with us.  And if you need any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your ENTIRE order coupon code over in my left sidebar.

Heather, your card just begs to be hugged! What a sweet image. Your use of paper piecing to make the bear a plaid for the holidays is genius! Looks like you just about did every row on our Tic-Tac-Tuesday challenge!! Foil would have been too glitzy for this adorable homey feel card. Thank you for inspiring me to try paper piecing for my holiday cards, and especially for sharing your creativity with us at Try Stampin' on Tuesday!!! -Donna

Heather, the kitten's expression leaning on the Teddy Bear is precious, for sure deserves a hug. Love that background and aren't those acrylic stamps great for adding a curve to the sentiment. Thanks for sharing with us at Double Trouble and Try Stamping On Tuesdays. Please come back and play with us again.
