Watercolor love

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  As it is the first challenge of the month, it is a Designer's Choice Challenge and Laurie has challenged us to create an anniversary card.  This was perfect timing as my brother and his wife celebrated their 12th anniversary this weekend.  Here is the card I created:
 I started off by heat embossing my image with white embossing powder on some water color paper.  Then I used watered down gelatos to water color the image using two purples and two greens and a tiny bit of yellow for the bee.   You can see it better in this close up photo:
 After I added the patterned paper, ribbon and tag, it still looked a little plain along the bottom, so I splattered it with some gold shimmer mist and some of the darker gelato I used on the image.  I think it added just the right amount of interest to the image.
 On the inside, I finished it off with this sweet sentiment;
Thanks for stopping by!  Remember, if you need any of the stamps I used today, I have a 10% off your entire order coupon over on my left side bar.  And make sure you check out the House blog to see what the rest of the team did for this challenge.

Very pretty - I am loving seeing the variety of stamps everyone used for an anniversary card - a nice variety. This card is so soft and love the splatters.

I haven't used gelatos in a long time, but you've inspired me to get them out and play a little. I love the results you achieved here. I never would have thought to use this stamp for an anniversary, but it was a perfect choice. Beautiful card, Heather.

Awwwww! What an absolutely tender and sweet little anniversary card! I like how you took the time to include that charming sentiment on the inside of the card. And the outside is lovely! I really like how you handled the heat-embossing and gave subtle color to the bee and flowers. I'm sure your brother and his wife appreciated this beautiful card! Thank you so much for taking the time to share it with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!
