Special Mom

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  Our theme this week is Designer's Choice and I am the designer of the week!  I chose "For a Special Lady".  I was thinking Mother's Day, but I know some outside the U.S. have already celebrated Mother's Day, some may no longer have their mothers with them anymore, and some of you might already have those Mother's Day cards finished.  So, as long as it is for a special lady in your life, it fits!  I am never ahead of the game, so I made a Mother's Day card for my mom.  Her favorite color is red, so that was my starting point.
I started with the Flower Power Background stamped in black, then I added some of the coordinating images from the Flower Power Separates set (they don't match exactly, but it gives a bit of interest that way) in red.  I used a dark red marker to add detail to the red flowers and a medium gray marker to add interest to the flowers I left white.  I also stamped the butterfly silhouette in black.  And, you can't really see it in the photo (but it adds visual texture in real life), but I stamped the postcard image in a light gray over top of everything.  For the top panel, I stamped the solid flower cluster from Flower Power border set multiple times on the white strip.  I used a green marker to draw the stems and leaves and added clear wink of stella to the centers.  For my sentiment, I masked off the rest of the sentiment so I could just stamp "Mom".
I can't wait to see what you create for my challenge.

Supplies:
Stamps: Repeat Impressions "Flower Power Background", "Flower Cluster Solid", "Pattie's Flower Solid", "Mum Solid", "Kathy's Flower Solid", "Daisy Solid, Large", "Daily Solid, Small", "Butterfly Sil. (small)" and "Mom's like you . . . "
Dies: MFT "Blueprints 13" Stitched rectangle and stitched line, "Blueprints 12" stitched flag and "Stitched Scallop Trio"

Bubble Gum

Happy May!  It's time for another challenge from Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and it's Anything Goes!!  We have three awesome sponsors:
Dr. Digi's House of Stamps

Sparkle N Sprinkle

My team is sponsored by Sparkle N Sprinkle and I was given this super fun set to work with.  It comes with the bubble gum machine, a trio of gumballs, and a trio of pennies (pre-colored or outline) images and 3 sentiments.
Isn't that sentiment fabulous!??  And definitely true.  After I colored up this fun image, I used glossy accents to cover the glass ball.  You can see the shine in the photo below.

Supplies:
Stamps: Sparkle N Sprinkle "Bubble Gum" digi stamp set
Dies: Spellbinders "Classic Circles, large"  I used a little bit of the out of the box die cutting technique for the very top of the machine.

It's your day . . .

Happy Friday!!  It's time for another challenge from Jo's Scrap Shack.  As always, we are now an Anything Goes challenge.
Our sponsor this week is the fabulous Bugaboo Stamps:

I chose to use this fun image:
I picked it because it could be used for so many different occasions when you need a masculine card.  Think birthday, Father's Day, thinking of you, or even an encouragement card.  I think I might end up getting a lot of use out of this one.  I paired it with some screw head brads that I picked up last fall.  My husband and his grandfather are both carpenters so I knew the brads would come in handy.  But really, they add a great masculine touch to any project.  Then, I used a sentiment from Raisin Boat that seemed to fit the image.  Right now, I'm in an altering your sentiment stamp phase, either by masking or in this case curving.  I love clear stamps for this because it's really easy to attach them to your clear stamping block and then arc them to match the curve you are stamping them by.  I'm also in a "out of the box" die cutting technique mood lately, too.  It adds a bit of fun and interest and is a great technique when your largest dies aren't quite large enough to cut out your entire image (which is what happened here!); so fun!
I hope you will get a chance to play along with us this week.  I love being inspired by what you create!

So Glad

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built and this week it is Anything Goes!  Oh, yeah, we know how much everyone loves those challenges!!  And here is the card I created for the challenge:
I just love how these colors work together!  They're so bright and pretty.  And you all know how much I love these Flower Power separates images!  I stamped the background first with the solid images and then added details with coordinating Spectrum Noir markers.  I created a fun shaker card that looks all the way through to the stamped panel.  I used sequins and punched butterflies for a little bit of fun.
 Here's the inside:
Won't this make a super fun Mother's Day card?  I hope you will get a chance to play along with us.
