I created two cards using these fabulous new stamps.  The first is very masculine and features some masking:
I started by stamping the oval frame on white card stock.  I stamped it a second time on copy paper and cut out the center, then laid it over the first frame on the card stock and stamped the lighthouse image on top.  I just love how it turned out, it looks very dimensional to me.  I think this is going to be my Father's Day card for my father, though maybe for my Father-in-Law.
My second card is much more feminine and very sweet:

I have hundreds of strawberry plants and this week they are in full strawberry production mode, so it seemed the perfect time to use this beautiful image.  I stamped the frame and then fussy cut it and stamped the strawberries inside.  I added some flowers from one of our releases from last month: "Flower Power Backgrounds and Borders".
Thanks for stopping by.  We have one more day of release peeks tomorrow, I hop you will stop by The House blog tomorrow and check it out.

Use those scraps

Happy Friday!!  It's time for another Friday Funday Challenge from Jo's Scrap Shack:

Now, I don't know about you, but I have a nice little stash of bits and pieces that are left over from other projects and even some die cuts, etc. that didn't end up making it onto the card they were intended for.  I really enjoyed this challenge as it gave me a chance to dig into that stash AND I was able to use up some scraps of paper with this fun layout, too.  Our sponsor this week is Sherri Baldy and I was given this sweet little image to use:
Look at her outfit closely: she's all bits and pieces of this and that herself.  So, here's the breakdown: the flower and leaves (already colored except I added some dark highlights to the flower), sentiment banner (plain, so I stamped the image specifically for the card), and pink ribbon were in that bits and pieces stash.  EVERY single piece of patterned paper used on this card are is a scrap.  The plaid background piece wasn't even big enough to cover the whole card, but with the circles added on top, no one (except you) will ever know.  I didn't even cut whole circles, as I knew I didn't need them and none of the scraps were large enough anyway.  But for this layout, it was perfect.
Yesterday was our fearless leader--Jo's--birthday, so make sure you hope on over to the blog to wish her happy birthday.  Happy Birthday, Jo!

Color Challenge

It's Wednesday and time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built! (Happy June, by the way)  This week we have a pretty color combo for you:
And here is my card for your inspiration:
A few weeks ago, I found this card on Pinterest and knew it NEEDED to be CASEd;
I made this card tonight at my team's cyberstamp. I asked them to choose a set that they hoped would retire later this year. I chose Doodle This (Scribble This in Australia) as I don't think I've used it in 4 years! However I really like this card and will use it more now! www.jaynemercer.com/blogs:
I just loved the pierced border, I think that's what really caught my eye.
I hope you enjoyed the inspiration.  Hop on over to The House blog to see the full details and how the rest of the DT has used this color combo.  And don't forget to stop by The House blog tomorrow when we start showing off a new release!!  You don't want to miss it!

Beautiful Days

Last week Repeat Impressions released this new set: "Flower Power Background and Borders".  I was hoping to get this card made in time for the release, but I just had too much to do, so I finished it up this week, and figured I would show it now.  Better late than never, right?
I embossed the background stamp with white embossing powder and then sponged four shades of ink to create an hombre look.  Simple, but gorgeous, I think.  Stay tuned to The House That Stamps Built blog later this week as there is going to be another release!

Sweet Baby

I had a baby shower to go to and I made this super cute diaper cake for the Mom-to-Be.  The baby's name is going to be Olivia so I covered a wooden "O" with a fun chevron paper using spray adhesive to adhere is and my craft knife to cut around the edges.  I also adhered green glitter paper and a pink patterned paper to some wooden butterflies and then hot glued little tiny baby clothespins to the back so they could be clipped on to the cake in different areas.  I didn't get a picture of them by themselves, but the little bear has on the cutest little butterfly slippers that are really for the baby.  So cute!!  To finish it off, I did wrap the entire thing in a clear Easter basket "bag" and tied it up with the rest of that pink polka dotted ribbon.
Of course, I had to make a matching card to go along with it.  I used this adorable bear stamp and colored her up to match the stuffed animal.  I used the same color combo on the card as on the cake and even used the same chevron paper to tie it all together.  I didn't have the right color pink card stock, so I sponged the edges of my white stock with a pink ink.  It's tough to see in the photo, but I also stamped the bear and a sentiment ("sweet baby") on the envelope along with little trio of hearts.
Oh!  I just love these two little bears. : )

Hanna & Friends #249--everything except the card (I think that means anything but a card--so my cake and the envelope count)
