Thinking of You

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  As it is the 5th Wednesday of the month, we have a fabulous sketch for your inspiration:
Image may contain: text
And here is the card I created using it:
I've had the flowers and leaves colored and in my bits and pieces stash, left over from another project, for several months and this was the perfect sketch to use them with.  I paired them with a clock face die cut which I backed with vellum so it would stand out from the background a little bit more.  Finished everything off with a sentiment and some white pearls.  I think it will end up being a birthday card, but it really could be used for a bunch of different occasions.

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you hop over to the House blog for all the details and to see what the rest of the team created.  And if you need any of the stamps I used, make sure you check out the 10% off your entire order coupon over in my left sidebar.

I love you

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.
The challenge this time is: Embossing--Wet or Dry
And here is my card for your inspiration:
I used the super adorable, Hearts for you to create a Valentine's Day card.  This little bunny is so sweet with her basket overflowing with hearts.  I used a damask embossing folder on my white layer.  The fancy little brackets around my image were in my bits and pieces stash for years and I finally figured out a way to use them!  And I was looking for the little tiny pink brads when I discovered a small bag of heart themed brads that I've had for a loooooong time.  I just love it when I can use things I thought I would never find a use for.

I hope you will get a chance to play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.  And make sure you hop over to the Di's Digital Designs blog to see what the rest of the team has made for this challenge.

Dreams take flight

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built and this week it is a fan favorite: Anything Goes!! And here is the card I created for your inspiration:
I was in need of a masculine birthday card to send one of the men at our church (late, of course, as always, but it's the thought that counts, right?).  Since I had my bits and pieces stash spread out on my desk, it's easy to see what I have in there, and I had this little rectangle of cloudy sky left over from a previous project.  As soon as I saw it, I remembered a sketch I had seen, and started thinking it would be perfect to use with Repeat Impressions hot air balloons.  And this is why I am so bad about throwing little bits away--it might be perfect for another project sometime!  Here is close up of the balloons and the stenciled sky:

It's your birthday

The beginning of the new year always makes me want to get my life organized and use up stuff (food, craft supplies, beauty supplies, etc.).  So, I've had my bits and pieces stash spread out on my desk to see what I have and what I might be able to use.  It's always a bonus when I find a challenge that fits with some of those elements I have in the stash.  So, when I saw Use Your Stuff's challenge to use numbers, it was perfect because I had 4 different number piles.  I started off with the blue numbers (just random ones that were left over from another project) and had to die cut a "1" and a "2" out of silver glitter paper to indicate the recipient's age.  I was getting ready to cut a few more numbers out of the blue card stock when I realized I had some green numbers already cut and they matched the patterned paper perfectly.
I added these sweet kitties, as the girl I made this for loves cats, plus, they are just so cute!  Add in a fun shaker element, and this should be perfect for a 12-year-old girl.

Supplies:
Stamps: Verve "Take Note" sentiment; Your Next Stamp "Word  Critters Collection: Cats and Dogs"
Dies: Spellbinders "A2 Matting Basics A" rectangles and banner die

Best of 2018

Today is my day to share my Pick of the Week for The House That Stamps Built.  As it is the start of the new year, I thought I would go through and pick my favorite cards I made for The House challenges during 2018.  There were way too many to pick so I am going to do a feminine version today and you can stay tuned for a masculine version later in the year.  If you've been around my blog you know I LOVE Repeat Impressions' "Flower Power Separates" stamps, so here are the cards I created using them during 2018: (to see the details of any of them clink on the link above the picture to be taken to the original blog post)

Thanks for stopping by!

Thinking . . .

I was in need of a sympathy card this week, and as I have my bits and pieces stash spread over my desk, I took a look at what was in there.  So, I had already set off to the side the yellow flower, little pink bud, thinner peach ribbon, sheer yellow bit of ribbon and the tag; I just had to figure out a configuration for them and this is what I came up with:
All I had to do was stamp the larger pink flower and add some wider ribbon and some pearls, and I used up 5 items from the bits and pieces stash!

Supplies:
Stamps: Altenew "Garden Treasures" flowers; Verve freebie (I think)

Challenges:
Cardz TV #81--anything goes
As You Like It--Favorite: pearls or buttons and why (I do like to use buttons sometimes, but I think almost any card can use some pearls.  They come in so many colors and sizes and, for me, add a touch of elegance)

Joy to the World

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps.  This week we have a beautiful inspiration photo for you:
No photo description available.

And here is the card I created:
I was inspired by the gold and the stars.  I used some gold metallic guilding paste to stamp the script layer, the star layer and the sentiment panel.  I also used it to create the gold mats under those panels.  I'm still working out of my bits and pieces stash, so the little glittery die cut stars were die cut from two little tiny scraps (I really try not to throw away any bits of specialty papers they can always be used for die cutting little shapes).  All my layers were cut from scraps of white and even the striped panel is made from scraps that I pieced together; love using scraps that way!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this photo.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

You had me at . . .

There are a couple challenges going on involving food and drink, and I really wanted to play along.  So, I created this fun hot chocolate card for my sister who is a big fan of hot chocolate.  I might include a gift card to Dunkin' Donuts so she can get herself some.
I die cut the word "chocolate" out of dark brown cardstock three times to layer together and give some dimension. Then I covered it in glossy accents to give it a nice chocolate-y look.  You can see the gloss in the photo below.

Snow Much Fun

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.
The challenge this time is:  Snow Much Fun
And here is my card for your inspiration:
I used this image with two little cuties out in the snow.  I added a lot of "snow" with my patterned paper die cut snowflakes and even on my "buttons".  The buttons are die cuts and have been in my bits and pieces stash for several years.  I don't know why sometimes you can't see a way of using something and then a different time, it seems to be a perfect fit.  But, I'm glad it worked out this time.
I created a matching envelope to go along with it.  The penguin on the outside is just a fun little tease of what will be in the inside.
To all the little snowflakes in the image I added some super fine glitter; it adds a great touch of sparkle to the image along with the blue rhinestones in the bottom left.
I hope you will get a chance to play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.  And make sure you hop over to the Di's Digital Designs blog to see what the rest of the team has made for this challenge.

Neighborhood Birthday

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built and this week we have a fun tic tac toe board for you:
(Unfortunately, the tic tac toe board disappeared, I will enter it here as soon as it is found)
And here is the card I created:
I used the last column: blue, dimension, ribbon/twine
The beginning of the year always inspires me to look at my bits and pieces stash and see if I can use up any of the items in it.  Maybe it's because I have a bit more time after the holidays are over, or maybe it's just the whole new year idea.  Anyway, the metro piece (actually two pieces, I just joined them together under the ribbon to make it look like one piece), ribbon and the kraft peg board piece (which is also two pieces fit together) were all in the stash.  The metro pieces have been in there for a couple years and I'm so happy to finally have found a way to use them.  For another card I created with scraps this week, you can check out my post here.  And keep an eye out for more coming soon; I have one in the works already.
Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you check out the House blog for the full details and to see what the rest of the DT has created.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out the 10% off your entire order coupon over in my left side bar.

Birthday Wishes

It's the beginning of a new year, so once again, I am going to focus on trying to whittle down my bits and pieces stash.  I didn't add too much to it this year, but I also didn't do very well using it up.  So, here it is January 4th and I'm posting my first stash card of the year!
Here we go: The large flower (made for me by my oldest daughter several years ago), the ribbon, and the little bit of pearl trim were all in the bits and pieces stash.  The large size of the flower has had me stumped for quite some time, but I found a perfect sketch for it.
I created the main panel with a Hero Arts script stamp  and some leaf images from PTI.  Then I added some die cut sprigs and scalloped borders.  The base layer was stamped with a crochet background stamp and light gray ink.  I finished the flower off with a light gray enamel dot as it seemed a little plain.

Thanks for stopping by.  I will be looking to create and post some more scrap cards soon.

Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts French script; PTI "Turning a New Leaf"; Verve sentiment; Our Daily Bread Designs crochet background

Snowman snow globe

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built and this week it is a fun Designer's Choice Challenge!   Esther has challenged us to create something with a snow globe.  How fun!!
And here is the card I created for your inspiration:
The snow hills are cut out of a super sparkly white card stock and I added glitter "snowflakes" to the inside of the snow globe, so this is so sparkly in real life.  I contemplated cutting a circle out of the background paper so the background of the snow globe would be white, but I kind of like the snowflake pattern showing through.
The photo below shows off some of that sparkly goodness.
One (of the many I should make) of my new year's resolution is to get my Christmas cards finished and sent out BEFORE Christmas.  So, one step I am going to try to take is to stamp the inside of my cards as I make them, so I don't have to do that right before I mail them out.  I did it for this card, so, one done!  Yeay!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will hop over to the House blog to see the rest of the DT's creations and then get inky and play along with us.  And if you need any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your ENTIRE order coupon code over in my left sidebar.

Thinking of You

Happy New Year!!  Since it's a new month, it's time for a new challenge from The Love To Scrap Challenge Blog.  This month the challenge is Anything Goes and our fabulous sponsor is Sparkle n' Sprinkle.

And here is the card I created using one of their beautiful images:
Isn't it beautiful??  I'm taking a little bit of a break from Christmas and winter creations for a little bit of spring.  Ahhh . . . refreshing!  Being a little short on time (but when isn't that the case?) I opted to keep this very CAS, printing the image and sentiment from the same set on one sheet of card stock.  And that, folks, is about the extent of my digital image manipulation.  I colored the image with Spectrum Noirs and added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to the center of the daisies.  You can see it a little in the photo below.
I used a stitched rectangle die to cut out the panel, mounted it on some pale aqua card stock and finished everything off with three tiny purple gems under the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hop on over to the LTSCB blog to check out what the rest of the Design Team has created.
