Happy Pup

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps.  This week is a fan favorite: Anything Goes!!

And here is the card I created:
This is actually a little sneak peek at next week's challenge.  I'm not going to tell you what it is, but one of the elements I used on this card is the challenge for next week.  I got my challenges mixed up and made this card for my husband for our anniversary (7/31--22 years!).  When I went to upload it to the team facebook page, I realized I had done the wrong week!  Uggghhh!!  Luckily this is an anything goes challenges, so literally, anything goes!  My daughter got a little Rottweiler puppy back in April and my husband is quite taken with him as well.  So, I colored up this cute little pup to resemble our Hawkeye.  I stamped the background with a pawprint and a heart stamp and dry embossed the kraft layer with a pawprint embossing folder to fit with the theme.    I created a little tag that can be pulled out and used as a bookmark or some such thing.
The sentiment die cut panel is popped up on foam tape and also acts as a stopper for the tag, so it doesn't slip out of place.
Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this challenge.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

Blue Christmas

Good morning!! It's my turn to share my Pick of the Week for The House That Stamps Built blog.  If you've been around for a while, you know I am doing a series of cards inspired by cards I have found on Pinterest.  This week, I want to show that you can be inspired by the same card in completely different ways.  My inspiration is this card:

I really like the text circles and the CAS layout.  In June of last year, I posted a card that was inspired by this very card.  Here is that card:
Quite similar to the original inspiration card, I would say.  Well, this time as I was looking through my Pinterest board, that same card caught my eye and I was inspired in a completely different way.
Those circle text elements still really grab my eye, but this time I used "Snowflake orb" embossed in silver embossing powder and dressed up to be an ornament.  I also heat embossed the sentiment "Christmas" with the silver embossing folder.  I die cut the ornament "topper" and then used some sliver cording I had to "hang" the ornament from the top of the card.  I used a silver mat for the focal panel and finished everything off with some silver rhinestones (not clear, they are definitely silver).  You can see all that shiny embossing in the photo below.
Usually I am encouraging you to take a look at all of those cards you have pinned on Pinterest (come on, you know you have them!) and recreate something with the supplies you already have.  Today, I am encouraging you to take a look at those inspiration projects and be inspired in a completely different way!

Golfing Ted

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.

The challenge this time is: Use one or more sun(s)
And here is my card for your inspiration:
Little Ted is out playing a round of gold on his birthday.  Luckily for him, it is a nice sunny day!  At first all three of my circle elements were suns, but it was a little too crowded and actually looked a little funny with three suns!!  So, I made one a sun and the other two are just design elements.  For a little more fun, I added three enamel dots to echo the larger die cut circles.  I created the background using scraps from a paper pack.  I had paper pieced Ted's shorts and hat and needed to tie in those patterns but didn't have any pieces from the pack that were large enough.  So, I made my own!

I hope you will get a chance to play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.  And make sure you hop over to the Di's Digital Designs blog to see what the rest of the team has made for this challenge.

Christmas Deer

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps.  This week is: Christmas in July.

And here is the card I created:
I found a sketch I wanted to use and then remember this stag head die that I have that I had yet to use.  Then, I found some rustic papers and went to work.  I stamped, colored and fussy the cut out the pinecones, adhered them to the card and added some twine bows to dress them up.  I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of vellum that I wrapped around the oval the deer is mounted on.  I added a little red pearl to his nose and then added three more for embellishment.  In the photo below, you can see the shine from the gold embossed sentiment and the sparkle of the gold glitter paper behind the brown ribbon.

Christmas ornament

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps.  This week it is "Patterned Paper and Stamping".

And here is the card I created:
This might be my favorite challenge ever!!  I LOVE stamps and I LOVE patterned paper.  So, what could be better than combining them together!?  I started by stamping the ornament.  Then I masked the edges with some washi tape before stamping the poinsettia image several times.  I colored the image, fussy cut it out and added some detail with a gold paint pen.  I popped it up with foam tape before adhering it to the card.  To finish it off, I added some gold sparkle pen to the poinsettias.  You can see the sparkle in the photo below.

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this challenge.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

Christmas Joy

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.
The challenge this time is: Christmas in July
And here is my card for your inspiration:
This challenge comes at a good time as I am waaaaaaaaay behind in getting my Christmas cards made.  I used one of my favorite little mice for this one; I love his giant flowers!  I used the "out-of-the box" technique to cut out the front flower before adding a gold glitter mat and popping it up with some foam tape and adding it back in place on top of the rest of the image.  In the photo below you can see more of the gold glitter paper; the sparkle is fabulous!!
I used a gold paint pen to dot the centers of the poinsettias.  It adds even more shimmer and shine and a little extra somethin'!
I hope you will get a chance to play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.  And make sure you hop over to the Di's Digital Designs blog to see what the rest of the team has made for this challenge.

Stenciled Christmas

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps.  This week is Use a Stencil.

And here is the card I created:
I used a fabulous stencil from Newton's Nook to create this background.  I used several colors of Metallic Guilding Polish: Brown, Red Bronze, Copper, and Gold.  I just randomly applied them across the stencil.  Once they dried, I added some silver glitter paste on top.  Oh my goodness, the shimmer and shine on this one are fabulous!!  You can see it in the photo below.
I used the Red Bronze Guilding Paste to create a border for the sentiment strip so it would match the background.  I stamped the pinecone image twice, colored it and then stamped over top with the silver glitter paste.  I finished everything off with some chocolate liquid enamel dots.
Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this challenge.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

Next Batch

I have my next installation of cards from the one-sheet wonder template I've been working on.  Four more done, 5 pieces left to go. You can see the others here and here.

I had originally die cut that fancy "doily" for one of the other cards and it didn't work out, but it was perfect for this card.

I added some silver glitter paste to it to give it some fabulous shine!  You can see it in the photo below.
For the second card, I added a vellum panel; it softens the background but doesn't add any extra pattern.
On both that card and the next card, I used the same circle background stamp to create a little bit of interest.
For the last one, I actually had to cut and piece the strips of patterned paper together.  The original pieces were too short, but by hiding the cut behind the ribbon panel, they look like they are the perfect length!  I used a second stamp set for the sentiment on this one.  None of the sentiments from the elephants set would fit on the white panel.

Supplies:
CARD #1:
Stamps: MFT "Adorable Elephants"; Simon Says Stamp "Round and round" background stamp
Dies: MFT "Blueprints 12" stitched circle and "Small Doilies"

CARD #2:

More Adorable Elephants

I finished three more cards with my one-sheet wonder template.  You can see the first three here.   These little elephants are so adorable, they make any card look good!!
For card #2, here, I altered my flowers a little bit.  Each flower was one layer and had a clear rhinestone center.  I decided to make them look a little bit more like the little daisies stamped below the sentiment.  So, I gently took off the rhinestones, adhered two flower together to make them more full, and then added yellow enamel dots to the centers.
For the last one, I added a belated birthday sentiment.  Unlike what the sentiment says, I am quite often late with my birthday wishes.  I don't forget, I just don't get them sent out on time.  But I think the recipient will forgive me because the elephant is so cute!!

Supplies:
CARD #1
Stamps: MFT "Adorable Elephants" image and sentiment

Big Birthday

A new month has arrived and that means a new challenge from the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog.  This month's challenge is Anything Goes.

And here is the card I created:
Oh, I just love this little elephant!!  He's soooo adorable!!    I saw this old Sketch Saturday sketch a while ago and it just caught my attention; I so desperately wanted to give it a try.  So, while the deadline is well past, I still had to make a card with it anyway.  I already had the blue die cut stars in my stash left over from a past project.  I thought it would be fun to pair them with red patterned paper and create a fun 4th of July birthday card.  A young man in our family celebrates his birthday on the 4th, so this will be going to him.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Head on over to the LTSCB blog to see what the rest of the team has created and to get the full details of the challenge.  Then get inky and play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.
