January birthdays can sneak up on you after all the hoopla of the holidays. I needed a card for a birthday we are celebrating tomorrow. Nothing like last minute! The sketch is from Sweet Sketch Wednesdays and I also used the challenge from Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday challenge #47 to use one of the previous issued challenges--I decided to try out the layered mats & frames #37 challenge. This gorgeous rose is from PTI's "Year of Flowers set") and the sentiment is from "Big Birthday Wishes" with the same rose lightly stamped underneath. I used Spellbinders Lable #5 and Scalloped Circles, large to create the frame.

What a great card, love the gridded back ground and you fantastically colored rose. Super take on the sketch. So glad you could join us at Sweet sketch Wednesdays.

Heather, thanks for playing with us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. I too hate those last minute gotcha's, but what a fantastic card you created at the last minute. Love this PTI set and your faded rose behind the sentiment is lovely. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Heather yes I know about leaving things to the last minute especially cards that I'm making for someone. This is a really pretty card I love flowers on cards especially roses. Great job and thanks for sharing them with us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week and good luck.
