Usually when I make a card, I start with a sketch and then check out some challenges to see what I might want to incorporate into my card. But as soon as I saw the current challenge from Mod Squad: kraft, white and black, I KNEW I had to make a card with that color combo. It just really struck me. I'm cutting it close, but finally had time to play with the color combo and an idea that was floating around in my head. This is the result:
I heat embossed the flower background with white ink and white embossing powder and then softened the edges with some white craft ink. I also heat embossed the sentiment. I went back and forth about whether or not I should add embellishments, but I like it like this and it's simple to go with the sentiment.Supplies:
Stamps: Repeat Impressions "Flower Power Background"; MFT "Essential Sentiments"
Dies: MFT "Blueprints 13" stitched rectangle

A wonderful card. I love the white on kraft and it looks perfect without any added embellishments. Thank you for joining in at As You Like It x
Wonderful design. I love how you have created your own background, and the white embossed greeting on the black tag is the perfect final touch. Great take on the challenge, thanks so much for playing along with us this week over at The Mod Squad!

Absolutely think simple is the way to go on this - stunning. The black sentiment sets this off perfectly.
