Merry Christmas

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built and this week it is a fan favorite: Anything Goes!! And here is the card I created for your inspiration:
It's been too long since I have made a Christmas card, so the Anything Goes challenge was the perfect opportunity to make one.  Isn't this little moose the cutest?  I got him a while ago and this is the first time I have inked him up.  It definitely won't be the last time!!  He's so adorable.  I kept this one simple, but the pattern of the patterned paper gives it a real pop!

Penguin Anniversary

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.
The challenge this time is: Include a Sentiment
And here is my card for your inspiration:
This sweet little anniversary card is for my sister and her husband who will be celebrating their 12th anniversary this weekend.  For the background I inked the face of an embossing folder before running it through my die cutting machine (with paper in it of course!) to create a fun background.  I don't think I've tried this technique before, and I really like it!  I die cut two borders and a tag out of white card stock.  I added the thin strips of black to cut down the sweetness of all that pink!  I stamped the sentiment and then cut around it, attached it to my image which is popped up on foam tape.
I added clear Wink of Stella and a glitter pen on her veil.  You can see it in the photo below.  I also add some gold glitter marker to the champagne glass and added Glossy Accents over top.
I finished the card off with a sheer ribbon and some pink pearls.  You can also see the texture from the embossing in the photo above.

I hope you will get a chance to play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.  And make sure you hop over to the Di's Digital Designs blog to see what the rest of the team has made for this challenge.

Class of 2020

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps.  This week we have a beautiful inspiration photo for you:
And here is the card I created:
I was inspired by the purple and pinks on the right hand end of the color palette.  The daughter of a good friend is graduating from high school this month, so this is for her.  I started out with a smooshed background on water color paper using purple and pink distress oxides and a bit of water.  Then I sprayed a sparkly, white shimmer spray over the entire background piece.  You can see the shimmer better in the photo below.
After the spray, I added some stars with the same purple distress oxide ink.  I die cut the 2020 from the background and also some dark purple card stock.  I layered them together and placed them back in the negative space using the eclipse technique.  I stamped the "Class of" sentiment on a strip of white card stock and finished everything off with a stamped, fussy cut graduation cap.  You can't really see it, but I added some gold sparkle to the tassel with a Spectrum Noir glitter pen.

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this photo.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

Marvelous

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  This week we have a fun Tic Tac Toe board for you:

Here is what I created for your inspiration:
I used the bottom row: Ribbon/twine, bright colors, flowers.  I also used: The left column: Die cuts/punches, embossing, Ribbon/twine.  I also used gems.  This was a fun board!  The flower panel was in my scrap pile of white card stock; I had it stamped for a different card and I only used part of it.  So, when I saw it, I thought it would be perfect to color up with some bright colors.  Purples, yellows, and a bit of turquoise really make a fabulous color combo!  The piece of purple ribbon was in my bits and pieces stash and now it is finally used up!  I grabbed some yellow grossgrain ribbon and added some mulberry paper to mat the sentiment panel and it was done!

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this photo.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

Thinking of you

A month or so ago, I won a gift certificate from DRS Designs.  This brick wall and the gnome were two of the stamps I got with it.  I intended to use them just like this when I picked them out.  I also have a few other ideas in mind.
I started out by stamping the gnome, then I created a mask for him so I could stamp the brick wall and stencil the clouds.  After coloring both, I stamped the sentiment and the birds and added the die cut grass along the bottom.

Supplies:
Stamps: DRS Designs "Brick Wall" and "Peeking Gnome"; Cardz TV "Just Sayin'" sentiment; Repeat Impressions "Sandcastle" the little birds

Love you, Mom

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.
The challenge this time is: Load on the Flowers
And here is my card for your inspiration:
If you are looking for super adorable images, make sure you check out Di's Digi Stamps!  I just LOVE here adorable, sweet little critters!  This is one of my favorites and I colored it up for my mom for Mother's Day.  I usually color my kitties gray because I've always loved gray cats, but now we have a sweet, little black kitten.  So, I colored up this little kitty to look like our Bagheera (the panther from Jungle Book).  I so happen to have both yellow and deep purple tulips blooming in my garden right now, so that was the basis for the color scheme.  My sister suggested the blue for the watering can, and I really do like the overall color combination with that addition.  I don't have many (if any, really) purple patterned papers, so I made my own using the "Guide Lines 2" stamp set from PTI.  I've had this set forever and it is still a favorite to pull out and play with.  I kept the focus on the yellow and purple, but did add in touches of blue to tie in with the watering can.  Once I finished stamping the pattern, it seemed a bit too bold and bright, so I softened it by covering the whole panel with a piece of vellum.  I also added softness with a bit of mulberry paper (yes, I still have tons and tons!) behind the image panel and the sheer ribbon (only a tiny piece left of it now).

I hope you will get a chance to play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.  And make sure you hop over to the Di's Digital Designs blog to see what the rest of the team has made for this challenge.

Mom's like you

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps.  This week is a Designer's Choice Challenge and Joy has chosen "Spring Flowers"

And here is the card I created:
As usual, I started my card with a sketch and went from there.  This is the first time I have used this flower stamp; it's so pretty!  I wanted to have a little "fun" (meaning, make a lot of extra work for myself), so I stamped the image and created a mask so I could stamp the Marquee frame over it.  After I colored the image, it seemed to need something else, so I fussy cut around the image inside the frame.  I loved being able to see the patterned paper behind the image, but it was a little too bold, so I added a piece of vellum to the back of the frame before I popped it up with foam tape.  I finished everything off with some punched butterflies and white pearls.

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this photo.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

Warm Wishes

I've been working on organizing and actually using some of the stamping goodies I've gotten and have not had the time to play with them.  I got this stencil from Newton's Nook several months ago and just now got a chance to play with it.  It took a LOT of masking to get all the different colors on there, but the end result looks really fabulous, I think.  I had the two mugs in my bits and pieces stash; they were made a while ago when I was using up the last scraps of a favorite paper pack.
I didn't want to cover up the fabulous background , so I die cut a vellum rectangle to ground the mugs.  I added a die cut snowflake that was also in my bits and pieces stash and placed it behind the sentiment strip which was popped up on foam tape.

Supplies:
Stamps: Lawn Fawn "Thanks a Latte" mugs and sentiment
Dies: MFT "Blueprints 13" stitched rectangle (background panel); Spellbinders "A2 Matting Basics A" vellum rectangle; Memory Box "Lindeman Snowflake"

Digger, Dump Truck

My nephew just turned 3!  He LOVES construction vehicles, specially "diggers" and dump trucks.  So, I created the fun card for him.  As you pull the tab on the right hand side, the "digger" motors along until it can dump its load into the dump truck's bed.

A couple of the dirt hills had been in my bits and pieces stash since Valentine's Day, when I made him a card using the "digger" image.  I stenciled the clouds onto the background and added a die cut sun and clouds to finish it off.

Supplies:
Stamps: Your Next Stamp "Keep on Truckin'" and "Silly Faces 2"

New Home

A new month has arrived and that means a new challenge from the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog.  This month's challenge is Anything Goes.

And here is the card I created:
My church hired a new pastor in January.  He had some responsibilities to take card of in the church he was in, so he and his wife were not able to move to the area until this past weekend.  I made this card for them to welcome them to their new home.  I have had this paper for years and years!  The house pattern is perfect for a new house card.  Since the patterns are bright, I paired them with some kraft cardstock.  I was even able to add some enamel dots that I've had for a long time as well.  You can't really see it in the photos, but the green dot and one of the blue dots have little silver hearts on them.  I thought it was a cute addition.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Head on over to the LTSCB blog to see what the rest of the team has created and to get the full details of the challenge.  Then get inky and play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.
