Peace

Happy December!!  I can't believe it's here already!  I'm so not ready!  But this month's challenge from the Love to Scrap Challenge Blog will help.  This month we are challenging you to show us Winter Wonderland.  Our sponsors are:

Digital Stamps & Printables by Pickled Potpourri Designs

DRS Designs

I got to choose this absolutely gorgeous berry wreath image and sentiment from DRS Designs.  I'm so happy with how the wreath turned out; just how I saw it in my head.  It was a lot of tedious coloring of all those little berries, but the end result was well worth it.  I colored them with a red Spectrum Noir marker and highlighted each and every one with a white gel pen.  Then I used a brown Sharpie Marker to trace over all the branches.  It doesn't seem like much, but it really brought everything to life.
I had printed out the sentiment on vellum and layered it over the image.  I just love the softness of sentiments on vellum!  I matted the panel on some gold paper, deep red mulberry paper and some DCSV Christmas paper I have had for probably 8-10 years.  I finished the card off with some gold texture gems (kind of like liquid pearls) in each of the four corners.
I do love how this turned out.  Simple and elegant at the same time.  I hope you will get a chance to play along with us this month.  You can enter up to 5 times so you can really build up that Christmas card stash.
