And here is the card I created:
The inspiration photo is so beautiful; I love the softness of the leaves. They look almost translucent. I tried to capture that softness by using vellum for both my large leaf and the top layer of my tag. I stamped the leaf on vellum with an orange ink and then restamped on top with red ink sponged around the edges. Orange-y red leaves are my favorite! Using my mini MISTI makes it really easy to do this technique. I also used the MISTI to stamp the sentiment several times on the tag so it would be dark enough to stand out against the background of the patterned tag. I sponged some tea dye ink around the edges of the book print paper to add some dimension and I stamped the scattered leaves along the bottom using my copper Gilding Paste (which is quickly becoming one of my favorite products!). In the photo below you can see how shiny the leaves are. It looks like they are embossed without all the effort (and the buckling paper I always get with heat embossing)!!
I finished it off with a copper eyelet, some ribbon with twine and three enamel dots in fall colors. Thanks for stopping by! Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this photo. And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.
