Back in February, I was one of the top picks for the Crafting By Designs Anything Goes challenge and I was asked to be a Guest Designer! Such an honor. This is the week I get to Guest Design for them and our challenge is: Getting Ready for Christmas. Christmas is my favorite occasion to create cards for, so it is a perfect challenge for me! Here is the card I created:
I made a bunch of these fun backgrounds a couple weeks ago with the remaining scraps from a Christmas paper pack. The black part of the phone was in my bits and pieces stash, so I die cut the red portion to go along with it. I had in mind to use a cute little snowman from this same stamp set, but when I saw the angel, I had a really fun idea. The angels were the first to announce the birth of Christ--which is the real reason we have Christmas to celebrate. So, I got to thinking what it might look like if God were to announce the birth of his Son in the vernacular of our day and age. Everyone is so attached to their smartphones; maybe the announcement would come by text with a cute angel emoji/icon, complete with a #BESTDAYEVER message. The hearts indicate God's love, the reason for sending his Son. And here is a picture of the inside, with the rest of the good news message:Supplies:
Stamps: YNS "Winter Snow Globe"; MFT "Friend Request"
Dies: MFT "Smartphone" and "Blueprints 13" stitched rectangle

Wonderful card Heather - and it's great how you captured the real meaning of Christmas, which often is forgotten. Super idea to use the strips of Christmas paper for the background as well!
