I have actually 4 layers and even my flowers have 4 layers.  I used purple and green as my 2 colors and I have one background using patterned paper.

Hello, everyone!  It's time for a new challenge from the Creative Moments Challenge blog.  The theme is: CAS.  I am using an image from our fabulous sponsor: Sheepski Designs.

 Here is my card:

It's interesting how your style evolves and grows as you spend more time crafting in any form.  I am not a fussy card maker, but CAS cards used to be extremely hard for me to pull off well.  My style falls more into a classic, somewhat embellished style with lots of layers.  BUT, I have worked to understand the CAS style and I think I am getting pretty good at it.  I printed this beautiful image out in a large size so it could really be the star of the show.  I die cut the panel using a stitched rectangle die.  After I colored up the image, I add a simple sentiment and RESISTED the urge to add any embellishments at all.

 Happy Friday!!!  It's time for a new challenge from the Cut It Up Challenge Blog.  This week, the challenge is: Beginning with "C"

Here is my card for your inspiration:

While I was playing around on Pinterest this week, I came across a tutorial for this card style that I just HAD to try.  It looked so fun, and honestly it is quite easy to make once you get the two pieces cut and scored.  I need to make a birthday card for my nephew who is turning 8 this month and I thought he would appreciate something a little bit "more" than a regular card.

So my "C"s are: Card (that's a pretty obvious one!), Critters, and Cow.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut out the farm animals and then adhered them to the card with some die cut grass.  Of course, I had to add in a die cut "8" to celebrate his eighth birthday.

Farm Fresh

 A couple of weeks ago, I was asked to be a guest designer with Double Trouble Challenge for the month of April.

And here is my card for your inspiration:

I have my three pastel colors: blue, pink and green; my one sentiment with two words (I had to mask it a little to get it to two words!); and my one slimline card.  I had a bit of trouble with the twist to use at least one decorative or colored egg as I don't celebrate Easter with eggs and bunnies and such, but I did remember that I had this farm set that had little eggs in it.  So, I colored them up to be green eggs (some chickens do indeed lay green eggs) and there you go!  And of course, I used the sketch and I managed to use up all of that pretty lace as well!  This small piece has been sitting around for a long time.  It's always fun to use things up.

CAS cards have always been a bit of a challenge for me.  But over the years I have gotten better at it.  I printed out the image and die cut it with a stitched rectangle die.  The longest part was definitely coloring the image, then I stamped the sentiment and sprinkled around some tiny white pearls.  Done!

Baby boy

Happy Friday!!!  It's time for a new challenge from the Cut It Up Challenge Blog.  This week, the challenge is: Anything But a Card

Here is my project for your inspiration:

I created these cute little boxes for the favors for a baby shower I am co-hosting this weekend.  As you can guess, it is for a little, baby boy.  He actually was born 6 weeks early so is already here!!  But, we had this scheduled before the birth, so here we are.  I have a die that cuts out the little box.  Then I stamped the baby items on one side and "Thank you" on the second (see the photo below).  I then stamped a onesie on blue patterned paper and again on white card stock.  Fussy cut them both out and adhered the blue onto the white.  After putting three little Dove chocolates inside, I tied them up with an organza ribbon bow.  So cute!!
