Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built. This week is timely one: Think Pink (in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month).
And here is the card I created:
This card is almost made out of completely recycled elements. I had a card that I made years ago and had never ended up sending it to anyone. It needed a little "help" to bring it more up to date, if you know what I mean. The pink panel was actually the original card base. I die cut it with a stitched rectangle die and dry embossed it with a damask embossing folder. Afterwards, I lightly blended some white ink over the embossing to make it stand out a bit more. The layered element was the focal point of the original card. There were two more layered pieces but they didn't work for this card, so I will have them leftover to use on another card. I added the turquoise layers to add more contrast. The bit of turquoise ribbon was left over from another project. I stamped, colored and fussy cut the image and adhered it to the center of the layered element with phone tape. Added some pink gems and adhered it all to a white card base. I really like how it turned out and it was a great way to recycle that old card.
Thanks for stopping by! Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this challenge. And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

Great card for this challenge, like your pill bottle, not sure how you got it to look like it is round like you did but it worked perfectly!
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful and I love recycling, thank you for joining us at the MAWTT challenge 😀
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and love how you "up cycled" an old card. I try and do that but sometimes the ideas just don't flow. The pill bottle full of hearts is perfect. Great job.
ReplyDeleteusing embossing folder always make the card pop! I also love the color combination you used and all the elements. Thank you for playing with us at MMM
ReplyDeleteA great piece of recycling and use of snippets.
ReplyDeleteUp in the Snippets Playground Treehouse, there's still some hot chocolate left in the pot, but I've run out of marshmallows, sorry.
