Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps. This week is: Christmas in July.
And here is the card I created:
I found a sketch I wanted to use and then remember this stag head die that I have that I had yet to use. Then, I found some rustic papers and went to work. I stamped, colored and fussy the cut out the pinecones, adhered them to the card and added some twine bows to dress them up. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of vellum that I wrapped around the oval the deer is mounted on. I added a little red pearl to his nose and then added three more for embellishment. In the photo below, you can see the shine from the gold embossed sentiment and the sparkle of the gold glitter paper behind the brown ribbon. Thanks for stopping by! Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this challenge. And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

Very striking Christmas card, great coordination of papers!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Heather! Love the pretty papers, and the masculine feel - it's so tough to create man cards! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLove the stag head - goes perfect with your DP and pinecones. Surely a masculine feel to this card. Love the red pearl as well.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really lovely, rustic design. Thank you for joining us at Christmas Craft Creations - Charlotte/Lady Joyful, DT

ReplyDeleteGreat holiday card, Heather! I like the little red dot for the deer's nose. Thank you for sharing your card and creativity with us at Double Trouble!!! -Donna
ReplyDeleteA perfect Christmas card Heather, with a few alterations this would also be perfect for a masculine birthday card. I find masculine cards so hard to create. I have my son's 20th card to make before next Friday so I'll have to get my thinking cap on and let my creative juices run wild. This is a great card and thanks so much for sharing it with us over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and good luck.
