Heartfelt Sympathy

A new month has arrived and that means a new challenge from the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog.  This month's challenge is Autumn/Halloween.

And here is the card I created:

I had actually die cut the patterned paper for a different card which didn't end up working out.  But, as I had it still sitting on my desk, I really wanted to use it.  The tree image fit perfectly and I though the fancy die cut edges were subtle enough to use for a sympathy card, but also dressed it up a little bit.  I've had this paper for AGES, and actually had it out for another project that I will be posting soon.  To turn the bare trees into fall trees, I used some foliage colored markers and just dotted on the "leaves"  Then I added some gold Nuvo shimmer pen to the trees to add some sparkle.  It's really tough to catch in the photo, but in real life, it is really subtle and pretty.  You can see it a little in the photo below.
I finished it all off with a sympathy sentiment and some twine, then adhered the panel to the base with some spray adhesive.  I thought that was the best way to adhere all the delicate edges.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Head on over to the LTSCB blog to see what the rest of the team has created and to get the full details of the challenge.  Then get inky and play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.
