And here is the card I created:
Now, I have to confess that one-layer cards are not my thing! I'm not into really fancy cards, but I do like using layers, so this one was a bit of a challenge. But, I am really happy how this one turned out. I started out by stamping the border stamp, colored it, stamped it again on some scrap paper, fussy cut that one out and used it as a mask so I could create the plaid section on the top. I used the same markers to create the plaid as I did to color the image. Then I stamped the sentiment and finished everything off with some gray enamel dots.

One-layer cards aren't my thing either, but wow -- you rocked the challenge! I love the plaid background you created - it really makes your card pop!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I choose one layer card as the challenge - and oh what beautiful creations everyone has come up with. Love your plaid background - and the blueberries are perfect. I just ordered this stamp - might just have to case your card.

You rocked this challenge! Great plaid section on top!
ReplyDeleteGreat use of your stamps...love the stamped plaid and how you masked your border image to create. Your coloring of the border makes it look so dimensional and I was stunned that it was only the one layer...beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us at Double Trouble and hope you come back for more fun challenges.
ReplyDeleteI love this design and the colors you used. Love that strip of flowers on an angle, and I love the contrast for the flowers with the plaid. Great take on our Code Word at Addicted To CAS. Thanks so much for playing with us.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, love the colours. Thank you for sharing with us at the Alphabet Challenge, and hope you can join us again soon ~ Janice DT
ReplyDeleteFabulous one layer card, like how you used the blueberry strand on a diagonal, great idea!
ReplyDeleteI really love your one layer card...it still appears to have some texture with the plaid against the flowers! Thanks for joining us at Double Trouble.
