Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built. This week it is a Designer's Choice and Donna has chosen to challenge us to create a one layer card. I have to say, these are definitely a challenge for me! I'm not a fancy card maker by any stretch of the imagination, but I do like some layers. Here is my card:
Since I couldn't use actual layers, I create visual layers by using masking--a LOT of masking. It took a lot of time, but the end result is awesome! I wanted it to look like sentiment "panel" was on top of everything else but you could still see through it. So, I stamped the border die on the card and then again on copy paper to use as a mask. The using my Misti, I stamped the ornament in black, removed the mask and stamped the ornament again in light gray. I did the same process for the poinsettias, creating a mask for them as well so I could layer them together. I also had to make a mask of the ornament so I could stamp more poinsettias behind it. I finished it off by stamping the sentiment. Make sure you head over to the House blog to see what the rest of the team created for this challenge. You will be feeling ready for summer when you are done. Thanks for stopping by and if you NEED any of the stamps I used, check out my coupon code in my left sidebar.
