Happy Wednesday! Time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built. This week we have a wonderful inspiration photo for you:
Remember that you can use either the photo or the color combo or both as your inspiration. This past weekend my husband and I sang in a Christmas concert. We've been practicing for a month and a half twice a week and there was a woman there who ran the sound system for every practice and the concerts. Not the easiest thing to do, so I wanted to give her a special little thank you and card. I had an idea in my mind what I wanted to do for the card, and when I saw this inspiration photo I didn't think it was going to work with what I had in mind. But, I had to go with it and this is what I came up with:
Part what I had in mind, part inspiration photo and ALL really fun! If I do say so myself. I used a puffy snow pen on the lamp and greenery and it adds some really great texture to the image. I watched a video by Kathy Racoosin on making a plaid background and decided to give it a try. I added some fun glittery stripes with a glitter gel pen. You can see the sparkle in the photo below:I hope you will play along with us this week (remember that you have all month to play along with our weekly challenges). Oh, I almost forgot!! The white die cut circle was in my bits and pieces stash; I wish it felt like I was making a dent in it, but not yet. Maybe soon . . .
