Do you ever have one of those days when nothing you want to do on a card works? That was yesterday for me when I tried to create this card. Arg!!! I think I cut each of the layers 2 or 3 times out of different patterns of paper. I could NOT get the colors to work and the patterns didn't work. Finally, I decided to use the paper I had in mind in the first place and lo and behold, it worked!! And I love it!! Here it is:
See that red and white striped paper? Yep, that's what I wanted to use in the first place. Should have just stuck with it. Here's a view from the side so you can see the popped up image.
Now it's time to head on over to the CSAYL blog and see what else the DT has up their sleeves.
Challenges:
Loves to Scrap--anything goes
Verve November Diva Dare--shape up! (use a common shape. All my layers are rectangles and I used three snowflakes)
Fab n Funky #193--anything goes
Crafting by Designs--anything goes with the twist of Christmas
Crafter's Cafe #37--embellish like a crazy person (I used ribbon, snowflake punchouts, buttons, and glitter)
Crafty Creations #248--punches/dies
Digi Stamps 4 Joy #80--stitching, real or faux (completely real; sewing machine and everything!)
Divas by Design--something snowy (snowflake punches; snowflakes on the red panel)
DRS Designs #96--Rip Torn
Southern Girls--sweets for my sweet (anything sweeter than a cupcake?)
Crafty Ribbons #70--anything goes with ribbon
My Heart Pieces--red, green and any color you want
Supplies:
Stamps: Bugaboo Stamps "Christmas Cupcake--candy canes" digi; Verve "Ornamental Christmas" sentiment
Papers: The Robin's Nest "Canadian Stripe"; DCWV all others
Punches: Martha Stewart snowflake punch
SU! real red ribbon
Stripes on the paper, stripes on the candy - perfect! I was reading about your journey to arrive at this card...the whole time thinking that the card was amazing so why the note about nothing working???!!! Now I understand, yes, I too do it all the time. It takes me FOREVER to make a card some days ;>)
