I wasn't sure that I could pull off daisies, but I went looking through my stamp collection and found this set from SU! "Decoratively Daisy" that I have had for a looooooong time. Then I had to think about how to use it, because daisies are white and white ink on white paper doesn't really show up very well. Recently, I had used white embossing powder on an image on white paper and it had been really elegant, so I figured I would give that a try, but of course, I couldn't find white embossing powder. All I could find was clear. So, I stamped the daisies with versamark and embossed it with clear powder and it was fabulous. Then I inked the center stamp with versamark and then a pale yellow ink and heat embossed that with clear powder. Also fabulous!! It needed just a touch more so I inked the leaf stamp in versamark and then a pale green and embossed that clear powder, too. If you ink with versamark and then your colored ink, it will stay wet long enough to hold the embossing powder and by using colored inks and clear embossing powder, you can emboss in any color you want. You don't have to have a million colors of embossing powder. There you go, tip for the day. : ) I used the same technique on my tag, but I stamped my sentiment first because you can't stamp OVER embossed images, it just wipes right off. And I let the sentiment dry for a while so the embossing powder wouldn't stick to it, though in hindsight, it's just clear powder so it wouldn't have changed the sentiment any. My stripes are a new embossing folder I just got last weekend. So, there you have Daisies and stripes. Now, hop on over to The Lollipop Ladies blog for all the details and play along. I'd love to see your take on the challenge.
