Tall and skinny?

The Mojo Monday sketch challenge this week is to create a tall and skinny card.  I've had a bunch of long, thin card blanks for quite a while.  Someone gave them to me and I just never really used them as I don't have envelopes to fit.  But for Christmas I got the Envelope Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers, so now I don't have an excuse not to use those blanks.  My card is not tall and skinny, but it is long and skinny.  I had to use some items from my "bits and pieces" stash and they fit better when I flipped the sketch.  After making my the card in my previous post I had two items to add to the bits and pieces stash, and the point is to eliminate it, not add to it.  So, I had to figure out a way to use the two ovals that I had cut out.  The sentiment oval was already in the stash, and the plaid oval was perfect for a frame, I just needed to trim the black to fit in between.   Also, the two little black flourishes were in the stash.  Yeay, it's getting much smaller.  Of course, now it's going to get harder, too, since I'm using up the "good" stuff. : )

Sweet Friends

I have had this stamp set for ages!!!  And have never inked it up before today.  Just not really my style, but I thought I would give it a try and it is cute!  I also managed to use up some of my scrap bits stash.  It took forever to figure out what (and how) I could use.  Finally, I figured out I could use to bits of ribbon to create the "border".  I had to cut them in half to be able to span the full width of the card.  Unfortunately, you can't really tell in the photo, but the plaid panel is popped up on the front and the oval is cut out of it.  So, the image is recessed.  I think it adds to the cute factor.

Still working away at my Christmas Thank You cards.  This little number used up 4 items from my stash pile!!  Yippee!!  Maybe I should start a "Can you spot the item from my stash?" game.  It could be fun, but rather hard.  So, I'll just tell you: the polka dotted ribbon, the 2 red flowers (stacked them together for more interest) and the white oval.  And don't tell anyone, but these are actually Christmas papers. : )

Girly Graduation

I have 4 cards to post today and each contains items from the stash pile I am working on whittling down.  (You can check out some of my most recent posts to see some of the items that have been put to good use)  I have a bunch of die cut numbers in said stash pile and I was wondering how I was going to use them.  Lots of random zeros in there and almost all the numbers are white--couldn't tell you why.  Then I was reminded that a friend was graduating this weekend with her massage therapy degree and as she is one of the Sunday School teachers at our church, they were going to have a little celebration for her.  Ah, ha, a graduation card with the date on it!  Perfect for using up random zeros!  So, the 2 and the 0 were already cut out as was the sentiment panel (stamped already even!) = 3 items from the pile used up!  And I think it created a really soft beautiful graduation card.

You Make Me Smile

Another scrap from the scrap pile used up!  The banner were cut for a project last year, and either I only used a bit of it, or it just didn't work on that card.  So I made it work for this one.  And I had these papers on my desk from the card for in my previous post.  I thought everything worked well on that one, so I combined many of the same elements again.
