From the Whole Herd

Happy Friday!!!  It's time for a new challenge from the Cut It Up Challenge Blog.  This week, the challenge is: Critters

Here is my card for your inspiration:
I love this stamp set from My Favorite Things; the farm animals are so cute and the sentiments are just too fun!  I made another version of this card with the cow from the same set first and then I decided to make another one using some of the other animals.  So, I die cut both layers of the "hello" sentiment, stamped, colored and fussy cut the animals, stamped the rest of the sentiment and adhered everything in place on some plaid patterned paper that said "country/farm" to me.  I finished everything off with some die cut hearts and I added some glossy accents to those hearts to give them some shine and make them stand out more.  I actually used the base layer die of the "hello" set to cut the horse so he would fit perfectly around th.e sentiment as I didn't want to add extra bulk under the sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you will hop over to the Cut It Up blog for the full details of the challenge and to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT "The Whole Herd"
Dies: MFT "Essential Hello" die-namics, "Blueprints 13" stitched rectangle and "Tag Builder Blueprints 5" hearts

Challenges:
Snippets Playground #483--anything goes with snippets (everything except the card base was cut from scraps)

World's Greatest

Hello, everyone!  It's time for the mid-month reminder for the challenge from the Creative Moments Challenge blog.  The theme is: Men and Boys.  I am using an image from one of our fabulous sponsors: Mirtillamente.

 Here is my card:
This is my Father's Day card for my husband.  Who doesn't love a good burger with some fries?!!  Since the colors in the image where bold and bright, I used some bold, bright patterned papers.  I just love the pops of black; they really make everything else pop!  For the fizzy bubbles, I added some glossy accents which adds a fun touch.  You can see them in the photo below.
You have all month to play along.  So, get inky and link up your creation; I can't wait to see what you create!

Stamps: Mirtillamente "Bollicine" digi; PaperTrey Ink "World's Greatest"

Open Road

My dad is a motorcycle guy.  This is the card I made for him for Father's Day.  The patterned paper has a map of the continental United States.  You can see Florida down there by the sentiment.  New Hampshire, where my parents live is up by the enamel dots.  I used a light gray card base and squares for my image panels (which were actually left over from die cutting the frame for this card that I posted the other day).  I used a light gray ink and inked the image up several times to get a darker, but still subtle image.  I added a strip of Ocean Tides card stock running down behind the image panels.  I finished it all off with some gray enamel dots.

Supplies:
Stamps: Repeat Impressions motorcycle and "Father's Day"
Dies: MFT "Blueprints 13" stitched rectangle; Lawn Fawn frame die leftovers

Turning ONE!

Happy Friday!!!  It's time for a new challenge from the Cut It Up Challenge Blog.  This week, the challenge is: Feeling Blue (use blue as the predominate color)

Here is my card for your inspiration:
This weekend we are celebrating the first birthday of a sweet little boy in our family.  This is the card I created for him.  One of the best things about handmade cards is that you can personalize them to the recipient.  With this spelling of his name, he will never be able to find mass produced items with his name on it, but he will have a card with his name on it!  I die cut the frame and trimmed some scraps of blue patterned papers to fit behind the frame.  Then I die cut the letters of his name and the number "1" out of dark blue card stock.  I stamped the sentiment directly onto one of the patterned paper panels and then stamped the elephant on a scrap left over from cutting one of the other panels.  I added a little shading to the elephant with a gray marker and then fussy cut him out and adhered him to the fourth panel.  It is super cute and relatively easy--the hardest part was getting the letters squished together enough to fit in that panel!  It was a tight fit, but eventually I managed to do it.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you will hop over to the Cut It Up blog for the full details of the challenge and to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.

Get Your Party On

Hello, everyone!  It's time for a new challenge from the Creative Moments Challenge blog.  The theme is: Men and Boys.  I am using an image from one of our fabulous sponsors: Sheepski Designs.

 Here is my card:
Oh, my, I just love this image; it's super cute and the little bear looks wiped out from partying!  I created this card for my father-in-law who's birthday was this week.  As soon as I saw this image, I knew I had the perfect sentiment to pair with it.  I ended up using it on the inside as I didn't have enough room to use it on the front of the card.
It is also kind of fitting for my father-in-law as he gets up early and is very active so he goes to bed quite early at night.  I was able to use up some paper scraps on this card: the red, blue and yellow pieces were all scraps.  I actually pieced together the red piece behind the the image and underneath the blue strip--no one will ever know.  I really like how this one came out, I think it is all the black; it really sets off all the different colors.
You have all month to play along.  So, get inky and link up your creation; I can't wait to see what you create!

Wishes

Happy June 1st!!  It's time for a new challenge on the Critter Crazy Challenge blog!  As always, it is a month long challenge: Anything Goes as long as you feature a creature.  Here is my card for your inspiration:
I had this adorable swan stamped and cut out and waiting in my bits and pieces stash and I figured now was the perfect opportunity to use her.  I stamped the crown and three lily pads from the same stamp set.  I used a strip of washi tape to mask off the waterline and blended on a little pond for the swan to swim on.  I added a few "waves" to add interest and I finished it all off with a sentiment.  I added gold wink of stella glitter pen to the water lilies and a gold glitter Spectrum Noir pen to the crown for a little bit of shimmer and sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hop on over to the Critter Crazy blog and check out the details and the rest of the projects from the Design Team.
