Give Thanks

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built and this week it is a fan favorite: Anything Goes!! And here is the card I created for your inspiration:
It was to be quick and easy because I had a really crazy week and didn't have a lot of time.  But, as simple as it is, I really, really like it!  I started by stamping the "thanks" and then adding the "give" in the empty space.  I used my stamp positioner to add the falling leaves "randomly" around the sentiment and colored them with colored pencils.  I finished everything off with some gold and red nuvo drops.  Annnnd done!  I think it actually took me less than half an hour which is really good for me!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will hop over to the House blog to see the rest of the DT's creations and then get inky and play along with us.  And if you need any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your ENTIRE order coupon code over in my left sidebar.

Snowy presents

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.
The challenge this time is: Emboss it (Wet or Dry)
And here is my card for your inspiration:
I printed out the image, colored it and fussy cut it leaving the part below the snow line intact. I embossed my card base with my favorite snowflake embossing folder.  I then attached a strip of my patterned paper scraps along the bottom.  I adhered a thin line of gold glitter paper to the bottom of my image panel, stamped the sentiment and adhered the whole thing to the embossed background.  I finished it all off with some red Nuvo drops.  I added clear Wink of Stella to the fluff on the penguin's hat, the red bow and the snow.  It's hard to see in the photo, but you can see it a little, tiny bit in the picture below.
I hope you will get a chance to play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.  And make sure you hop over to the Di's Digital Designs blog to see what the rest of the team has made for this challenge.

Friend for all seasons

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps.  This week we have a beautiful inspiration photo for you:
And here is the card I created:

As you can see, I was inspired by the leaves and the colors of the photo.  I had the large leaf die cut in my bits and pieces stash and it was the perfect size for embossing the sentiment.  I also added some frantage embossing powder around the edges of the leaf.  It's a little hard to see the sentiment in that photo, so the one below shows it a whole lot better.  It also shows the faux stitching along the bottom of the card.
I think this will probably just be a thinking of you card, or something similar, so I didn't add a sentiment to the inside.  But I did want to dress it up a little so I added some falling leaves and a couple acorns with a light gray ink in the bottom corner.
Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this photo.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

Marvelous

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  This week we have a fun Tic Tac Toe board for you:

Here is what I created for your inspiration:
(I used the left diagonal: sponging, autumn colors and leaves.  I also completed the bottom row: off the edge (my top left leaf hangs off the edge of the card), text background and leaves)

I lucked out on this one!  My mother-in-law has borrowed my small leaf dies, so I don't have them on hand to use.  Luckily, a couple years ago, I had die cut a bunch of leaves for a card project I did with the kids in our Sunday School.  They were not die cut out of the prettiest card stock (if you know what I mean . . .), but with a little ink sponging around the edges, they turned out beautifully!  I inked on some orange ink on the yellow leaves and red ink onto the orange Maple leaves.  I happened to have some pretty plaid paper that matched perfectly!  I stamped, colored and fussy cut out the acorns and attached them to my leaves with a little tiny twine bow.  I did a little sponging around the edge of my sentiment circle with some Antique Linen Distress ink before stamping my sentiment and finishing it all off with some little, tiny, orange rhinestones.  I love how the leaves pop!

Birthday Wishes

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.
The challenge this time is: Use a Digi
And here is my card for your inspiration:
I saw this sketch and I just HAD to use it!!  I created a template for my stamped circles by tracing two circle dies onto a piece of scrap paper.  I layered the piece of vellum over top where I wanted it and taped it down with some washi tape.  Then I laid my clear stamping block over the traced circles, using them to place my sentiment in the proper curve.  Then I alternated between stamping the sentiment and a little heart all around the circle.  I had to readjust for the smaller circle; luckily I remembered before I started stamping the second circle.  I added pearls in the corner of the vellum both for embellishment and as a place to adhere the vellum.
I hope you will get a chance to play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.  And make sure you hop over to the Di's Digital Designs blog to see what the rest of the team has made for this challenge.

Thinking of You

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps.  This week is a Designer's Choice Challenge and it's MY turn to choose.  I chose: Pumpkins

And here is the card I created:
All of the patterned papers I used were sitting on my desk from other projects I created recently (you may recognize the pumpkin paper from two weeks ago and and the houndstooth paper from last week).  They were all pretty much the right size, too, I just needed to trim them a bit.  I embossed the background with a plaid embossing folder I had yet to use; it adds such a great texture!

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this photo.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.
